Separate sections for works by new composers

No offence intended to budding composers out there, but shouldn't there be a separate section especially for works by composition students/others? It seems a bit like heresy to place the efforts of 20 year old composition students next to well respected compositions. granted, a lot of works by the g...

Re: Orchestral Parts Project

I could potentially do no.3 (the copyright thing) although i am sporadically busy with work. I do have all the horn parts for volume 1 on my disk if you don't already have it but haven't been able to work out how to unlock it.

Ok I have borrowed the horn parts for volume I. How do I decrypt the files? once that's done, batch work with photoshop will be a breeze.

I reckon there should definetely be some regulations on who should be allowed to publish their works on imslp, rather than letting all and sundry upload compositions of dubious quality. quality is really hard to judge though, so may I suggest that for symphonic works, only pieces that have been prev...

Just wondering though for legal reasons: if we posted the parts from the cd on the site (with watermark removed etc) and somehow the people who published the cd can show that the parts were from their cd, would there be legal liabilities? (and proof could even constitute this forum thread where ther...

I do not reckon there would be a single "best" composer, though one could perhaps nominate masters in certain areas... bach: master of the fugue and counterpoint mozart: can't really define, he just connects with humanity beethoven: ditto r. strauss: master of orchestration shostakovich: m...

Are you planning on ordering ALL the parts for all instruments? that'd be pretty pricey i'd imagine. Also, it might be hard to remove the tags on the pdf documents from the cds considering that they have all been locked.......

would be fantastic if you managed it though!
