Re: Out of control page size.

I found out what this issue was. For some reason Preview defaults to 72 dpi. If I change the resolution to whatever my original scanning dpi was (generally 400), the pages size returns to the original scanned page size.

Yon Missa Solemnis

This page was created by me for the TTBB version, @1924. Since the SATB version was published a year earlier, it should probably be regarded as the original version, and the TTBB as an arrangement, but I can't figure out how to fix this.

Out of control page size.

I'm running a Mac (10.11 at work, 10.12 at home, 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 in both cases) with various all-in-one printer scanners. My best scans have been made by scanning color jp2 @ 600 dpi, then converting to pdf with a black and white filter. Lately, though I've been scanning at normal size, my pag...

Heart of Oak misattribution

I just created Heart of Oak (Arne, Thomas Augustine). But then I received this, from Dr. Douglas Anderson, Marietta College: "BTW, the attribution to Arne on the print itself is incorrect. I've read somewhere, but cannot put my hands on it now, that this is a known misattribution. The actual co...

Re: Copyright status of odd orphan work (Parsifal Mass)

Thanks, David, that info seems to have broken the logjam. Veasey Jr. was born Nov. 24, 1895 in Philadelphia, per his 1942 draft card. He died Aug. 22.1960 in Spokane and is interred in Fairview Memorial Park, Spokane. http://archives.ancestry.com/Discoveries/PfRecord?siteid=1&collectionid=60229&...

Re: Copyright status of odd orphan work (Parsifal Mass)

The text is standard Book of Common Prayer stuff, so that shouldn't be a factor. What I hear you saying is that whether or not US copyright was renewed is irrelevant here. as is the fact that the source material is all PD. So unless I can find a death date for this obscure fellow, we're out of luck.

Copyright status of odd orphan work (Parsifal Mass)

I have in hand this item (OCLC# 11734835) "A musical setting for the office of Holy Communion for Anglican Churches based on the music of Wagner's Parsifal, arranged by C.A. Veasey Jr., utilizing the motives of the Sacrament, the grail, faith and the bells, including the transformation music fo...

Possible error in Du Caurroy Preces

In the Van Gilst edition of the DuCaurroy Preces acclesiasticae, in Ave Maria ...benedicta (#367639), in the first 5 measures, the contra part appears to be notated a fifth too low.
