Re: May I upload a Sonata edited in 1959 with its continuo realization?
Hello coulonnus, The file in question (Hinnenthal edition has now been blocked. There are hundreds if not thousands of files which need to be updated with the right copyright tags. In principle, these files cannot be uploaded onto IMSLP without the continuo realisations being removed first. See the ...

Re: Alternate Manuscript of Beethoven's op. 110
Thank you for these links! I will try to put them onto IMSLP when I can. (Note for anyone else seeing this: feel free to download the images and make a PDF from them yourself!)

Re: Alternate Manuscript of Beethoven's op. 110
Hi there, This would be a good addition to IMSLP, indeed! Do you have a link to a digital copy of this manuscript? It would make adding it to IMSLP much easier. Some digital library might have scanned it in (try the Beethoven-Haus, Bonn, which currently has it in its possession). Thanks, ScoreUpdater

Re: Charles Naginski (1909-1940)
Hi kosboot, Well, it's a little complicated. In Canada, all works of Naginski are in the public domain except those which were made public ( not "published"!) between 1972 and 1998. Those works are protected for 50 years from first being made public. In the US, normal copyright rules apply...

Re: José Viñas work placed under Julián Arcas
There is already a workpage for the Viñas work: https://imslp.org/wiki/Colecci%C3%B3n_d ... Jos%C3%A9). I have tagged the Arcas workpage for deletion.
Thanks for pointing this out!

Re: Komm Süßer Tod (Come Sweet Death)- J.S. Bach
The Virgil Fox arrangement will only enter the public domain in 2051 in Canada (where IMSLP is based), and in the EU, which is 70 years after Fox's death (in 1980).
So you'll have to wait 27 years before this arrangement will be legally uploadable onto IMSLP, under current copyright laws.

Re: Cross-linking scores
Usually the "Tags" argument is used here. However, do note that https://imslp.org/wiki/IMSLP:Categorization/Project_Members does state the following: Only assigned project members are permitted to add tags to work pages. (i.e. those with the "librarian" permission) I have added t...

Re: Debussy piano works (ed. Eberhardt Klemm, pub. Edition Peters): no longer accessible?
In addition to Sallen112's response, yes, the files were removed on 22 November 2023. I was involved in notifying the administrator who removed the files, which were removed due to their inclusion of the editor's fingerings (which are protected under copyright). If the editions were to be reuploaded...

Re: Mozart's Requiem
Hello, In this case, there are separate copyright terms you need to consider here. For the Agnus Dei, I would like to make a remake based on Süssmayr and Levin, like Dutron did [...] Franz Xaver Süssmayr died in 1803, and since his completion of the Requiem was first published in 1800, it is in the ...

Re: Inspired by a question in the IMSLP "Other" forum, but
Yes: in the vast majority of cases, the set of variations would be a copyright violation, if the original theme was not in the public domain . This is because the set would be considered a derivative work of the theme, and permission would have to be granted from the original copyright holder to pub...

Re: Editing score and part files (deleting inaccurate files and re-uploading corrected files
You don't need to delete the original file. On https://imslp.org/wiki/Music_for_string_sextet_(Gerber,_Edward_Enrico) , click on the IMSLP file number (e.g. #885696). This will take you to a page where you can 'Upload a new version of this file'. You can then upload the corrected version there, and ...
