I also do not like the Variations project. I think, they make such poor scans on purpose - copyrights etc.

But thank you VERY MUCH for this info! I would never visit Variations for the FULL score of Un Ballo.

By the way, the quality of THIS scan is QUITE good.

Vivaldi. The Seasons - a good cembalo part

Hello everyone!
I am looking for a good (probably best) realization of cembalo part for The Seasons.
I like the one printed in Peters edition. (Unfortunately I don't have the pages for the 1st part of Winter. Does anyone have this score?)
Would be very grateful if you could help!!

Re: Splitt PDF page into 2 equal halfs

Try Skan Kromsator (unfortunately, it is in Russian only: http://bolega.hotmail.ru/) or Scan Tailor http://scantailor.sourceforge.net/?q=en/about
or use FineReader - it also has the function of splitting pages - and then save as PDF or TIFF.

Dear Daphnis, I scan big full scores at 300 dpi b&w.
I also hate those huge poor quality jpegs...

Re: High Quality Scanning

I would say that 300 dpi is really enough for A4 scores, except for full scores with notes too small. For these, as well as for A5 scores 600 dpi is enough. Bigger resolutions do not, in fact, enhance the quality of the scan - technically. I use the 4990 Epson scanner with automatic paper feeding. I...

G.Verdi Un ballo in maschera full score; Puccini full scores

Hello Everyone! I am looking for this full score. Would anyone be so kind to post it if he or she has one? Thank you in advance! Also - I have the Dover full scores for Puccini's Madama Butterflu, La Bohème. Would it be ok if I scan post them at imslp? (I also have the Turandot, but as far as I reme...

Yes, you are right! I try to compare different editions when possible. Thanks for info on Ekier's edition! I'll look for it!

Re: Chopin Editions

I have some Henle volumes. But what do you think about the fingerings there? I am accustomed to considering Paderevsky's the most comfortable, plus he always tends to show Chopin's original fingering in italics.

Re: Chopin Editions

A great forum thread!!
And what about Paderewski? Is his edition still under public domain? If not, does anyone know where to find it online?
Also, which edition would you recommend as trustworthy nowadays?
Thanks in advance!!
