Viktor Ullmann (d. 1944)

Strangely, none of Viktor Ullmann's works are available on IMSLP. Why? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Ullmann If I purchase the downloadable PDF versions of some of his works from Schott's website, would I then be able to upload them to IMSLP as public domain in life+70 countries? For example:...

Re: Page count override not working in markup generator

The logic generating that field was flawed. I just fixed it. Please try again and let me know if you see any other issues as well.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, and for contributing!

Monitoring US server downloads

I'm releasing for general use several URLs that can be of help in monitoring downloads on the US server: Failed downloads (sorted by most recent failed download date, then by descending total number of failed attempts): http://www.imslp.us/php/failed.php Score download counts: - (sorted by descendin...

[BUG] bad link: Percy Grainger, Irish Tune from County Derry

Grainger became PD-CA beginning of 2012, but this link still refers to the score's old location on the US server: http://imslp.org/wiki/Irish_Tune_from_County_Derry_%28Grainger,_Percy%29. There are rightly no Grainger scores left on the server, so this link urgently needs fixing. My server logs show...

Re: Five new French composers available on IMSLP

Daphnis,

I am sure that many IMSLP users will be grateful for this valuable contribution. Your tireless work here, as elsewhere, deserves high commendation. Thank you so much for all the countless hours you've spent laboring to produce these fruits.

Re: Space

@Eric, I'm not sure what web interface you're referring to as appearing crowded. There is unlimited space on IMSLP-US; the host's policy is unlimited space, and I seriously doubt that will ever change given increasing competitiveness in web hosting, with all the players offering more and more for fe...

Re: Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.O

@Eric, @Carolus, The FTE template currently in use for PD-US-only scores marks every score (file) with the category {{FilePD-USonly}}. This makes it possible to browse all PD-US-only scores (cf. http://imslp.org/wiki/Category:FilePD-USonly). True, the use of this category is redundant when the work ...

Re: Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.O

@Eric, it's no longer part of the markup, but it is part of the template. When you save the markup on an IMSLP.ORG wiki page and view the page, you should see the PD-US-only information. Do you in fact see it? When ed created the new and improved FTE template, he did it this way so that redundant in...

Re: Uploading without admin access

@haydenmuhl, I have planned how to proceed eventually with implementing an upload form that non-admin users could use to upload scores. It would leverage the existing wiki markup generator, which is documented in the uploading guide. However, I have encountered little interest from non-admin users. ...

Bravissimo, Daphnis! To your tireless dedication and unflagging devotion we all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude. Without contributions like yours -- arduous, exhausting labors of pure love -- IMSLP and the IMSLP-US server would be meaningless. May the public benefit from what you have gifted us i...

Re: Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.O

@Eric,

If the author/translator's contribution was published before 1923, then it's probably PD in the US, so you could contribute it. Check http://imslp.org/wiki/Public_domain or ask questions in the appropriate forum if you're unsure or want clarification.

Re: Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.O

@Eric, @pml: I just fixed the link generator, making it compatible with the (new) templates in use and documented above. (Formerly we were using a different template, and when we switched to the new one I forgot to modify the markup generator accordingly). I apologize for the inconvenience. Jonathan
