Re: Alternate Manuscript of Beethoven's op. 110

There is one additional item that might be added to IMSLP. It is the first version of the first movement of Beethoven's Piano Sonata op. 111 in the composer's hand. https://www.beethoven.de/en/media/view/5129936813686784/Ludwig+van+Beethoven%2C+Sonate+für+Klavier+%28c-Moll%29+op.+111%2C+1.+Satz%2C+A...

Alternate Manuscript of Beethoven's op. 110

There is an alternate autograph version of Beethoven's Piano Sonata op. 110 that contains the last movement only that might be added to IMSLP. At present, IMSLP has only the original autograph version that contains the complete sonata. Beethoven wrote this alternate version as a fair copy of the las...

J S Bach's Harpsichord works in Bischoff's edition

Hans Bischoff's edition of all of J. S. harpsichord works is one of the earliest Urtext editions and still one of the best available. It would be a very worthy addition to IMSLP in two forms: the original German edition and the first version published by Kalmus with English translation of the extens...

Re: First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

Did you have a look at the pre-1800 edition Now I understand the problem and can answer your question, coulonnus. Yes, I did have a look and I am actively using that edition, which is the first edition that you added. Thank you again for doing that. However, I also would like to see the later editi...

Re: First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

Thanks for checking on that, coulonnus. I am looking for K. 279 (revised Koechel number 189d) in the Andre edition published by Offenbach in 1841. This later edition is apparently based on the lost autograph rather than the first edition (which has a lot of editorial additions and changes). Is that ...

Re: First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

That's very good of you, coulonnus. I'm now looking for the Andre edition of Mozarts K. 279, published by Offenbach in about 1841 (publication no. 6427).
It contains perhaps the earliest source of the first movement, since the autograph of this movement was lost in the 19th century.

Re: First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

If you mean to split it up and distribute the different sonatas among the different entries for each sonata, I think you should do that. As well, the complete Breitkopf and Haertel Oeuvres complettes, which was the first attempt to present all of Mozart's works, would be a great addition to IMSLP if...

Re: First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

Thank you very much, coulonnus. That indeed does the job. Great sleuthing! This is the first edition of K 279-283, which apparently were not published during Mozart’s lifetime. K. 284 was however first published in 1784 along with K. 333 by Torricelli in Vienna. I haven’t found that one online either.

First editions of Mozart's Piano Sonatas

It would be wonderful if someone had access to and could scan the first editions of Mozart's pianos sonatas K. 279 through 284 from the Breitkopf and Haertel Oeuvres complettes of 1799. I am not referring to the later Breitkopf and Haertel Complete Works which is already available at IMSLP. There ar...

Beethoven String Quartet op 132 wrong title

The manuscript shown after the composer's autograph score is a set of parts copied out by a copyist, not a second full score. For this reason it should be reclassified under parts.
