Re: Compositions not showing

This is a typical behavio(u)r of the MediaWiki SW, which you may have experienced already when contributing to CPDL, too. To save server resources, cached pages are shown to anonymous users (i.e., users who are not logged-in), so the latest modifications are not immediately available to them; instea...

Re: New domains for IMSLP-ASIA

As copyright regulations may change over time (see the now defunct TPP) it is convenient to be ready to move the regional server for Asia to any other Asian country, and maintain the same domain name. In Europe, where the regional server is currently located in The Netherlands, this principle has be...

New domains for IMSLP-ASIA

IMSLP-ASIA, i.e., the IMSLP regional server currently hosted in Hong Kong, and providing alternative/backup access to scores present on the regional servers of Europe and Canada, is now reachable through the following domains: imslp.asia; petruccilibrary.asia; petruccimusiclibrary.asia. The use of t...

Re: SC ? (Puccini)

I guess it's a short for Schickling Catalogue, being Dieter Schickling the author of "Giacomo Puccini. Catalogue of the Works" published by Bärenreiter:

Re: The server is broken

It may be the same problem reported here , but related to the presence of an apostrophe in the work title rather than in the composer name. Did you try using the classic skin? If there is also an apostrophe in the filename you're trying to submit, that could be another source of problems. Please try...

Uhm, this looks like a bug. As a workaround, you can invoke the Add Work page using:

I hope this bypasses all problems.

Re: Uploading onthe US Server

If an admin upload it from outside the USA, is he or she not the admin infringing the copyright? Generally speaking, a score cannot be copied (including digital copies, i.e., scans) in a given country if it is copyrighted in that country. So, the copyright infringement would occur even before the s...

Re: Uploading onthe US Server

isn't there a subtle copyright issue, because an European did the upload job? Yes, it's definitely a subtle and quite debatable issue, in my opinion. My two cents: as IMSLP is incorporated in the US, a copyright infringement notification should be submitted according to the US procedures and to the...

Re: Uploading onthe US Server

I have found out that only an admin can upload on the US-server No, this is not correct: anybody should be able upload scores on the US Server. The admin-only upload process was required on the old server, while it is now possible by all users since the new server is up and running (August 2015). I...

Re: Uploading onthe US Server

Are you sure that you used the specific link to upload to the US server? The link is not very prominent:

Re: "secure" communications nowadays. Help?

On a given computer one browser complains, the other does not. Browsers may offer the option to add a security exception, so that the security warning is not displayed any longer for that website. This might be the reason of the different behavio(u)r, if you added the security exception on one comp...

Re: unable to access imslp.org in China

Imslp.org (167.114.174.133) seems to redirect to cn.imslp.org (110.10.178.181) Actually cn.imslp.org seems resolved to 103.25.60.97 everywhere in the world, including mainland China, not to 110.10.178.181: cn.imslp.org.png IP address 110.10.178.181 is actually allocated to South Korea indeed, while...

Help to identify a (copyrighted) edition of Scarborough Fair

One of my "virtual pupils" provided me with a (probably illegal) scan of a SSAA, a cappella arrangement of "Scarborough Fair": scarborough_fair.png (first page only to prevent copyright issues) I tried to locate the name of the publisher or of the arranger in order to lawfully ob...
