English Folk Songs : Lincolnshire Poacher.

Assuming that there is a Public Domain ( in the UK) arrangment, I'd like to transcribe this into Musescore :)

( I can't exactly render it NES-style for maximum effect though .)

Mediawiki Score Extension.

Hi IMSLP Recently some work on a score extension for MediaWiki was seemingly completed. It is now possible (assuming you can understand Lilypond markup) to directly place music notation into wiki pages!! Example: http://en.wikisource.org/w/index.php?title=Page:The_Army_and_Navy_Hymnal.djvu/32 Extens...

http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/i/v/o/ivow2the.htm - PDF (Claims to be PD, but asks for attribution) http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ftp/HolstGT/Thaxted/Thaxted-let.pdf - Claims to be PD Given the issues identified with the version on the Musescore arrangment, I'd appreciate someone looking over these...

Re: 'I Vow to thee my country'

A few points about the item you linked to: 1. This is an arrangement for 2 trumpets and organ made by someone other than Holst. The arrangement could easily be under copyright. 2. Even if the arrangement referenced above was made by someone who died before 1962 and was first published before 1923, ...

Re: Musical inspiration for radio science ?

So this is the project that you were talking about earlier, then? Do you have specific objects in mind, or are you going for now with Philip's top recommendations ? Also, have you worked out a deadline yet, by any chance? Sorry for all the questions, but if I'm going to attempt to find the time to ...

Musical inspiration for radio science ?

Hi (This is going in off-topic for now as I wasn't sure where to place it) I'm looking into adapting some Wikipedia article on The Sun and Solar System into an audio format, and would like to include an appropriate score. (Yes I know I could use Holst, but I wanted to be slightly more creative than ...

Oranges and Lemons.

Oranges and Lemons - Folk music/ Bell Pattern of pre 18th Century origin. - This probably exists as as set of bell-change notes as well as a conventional arrangement.

Re: An idea for a musical challange...

This isn't yet a firm proposal, but in response to the queries, i) It doesn't have to be for Orchestra :) . It does however have to be 'playable' . As this is not a formalised proposal yet, just an idea, there is not currently a timeframe. ii) I'm well aware of the 'official' Pluto ( by Collin Matth...

An idea for a musical challange...

I've posted this to off-topic because it relates to possible original works by IMSLP members (some of whom appear to be actual musicians and composer themselves) as opposed to works by existing composers. The 'challange' as such (but it's one of honour, not reward), is to compose a musical work to r...

'I Vow to thee my country'

I am making a request for this on the basis that according to current searches made by myself, the original 1921 arrangement by Holst is public domain ( The original edition seems to have been published by Curwen.) (However, it should be noted that subsequent arrangements, might not be Public Domain.)

Re: Incorrectly tagged item.

That wasn't my understanding, (re the 75 Years thing) http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:PD_files#Determination_of_public_domain_in_US_.28and_copyrights.29 seems to say 95 years from publication, not 75, due to the Copyright Term Extension Act. However, 1915+95 = 2010 - So even with a confirm...
