Details remain unspecified, but yes, there wouldn't be one for only US or only Canada.

Given the recent activity, I'd support this, and offer French as well.

Well, there's nothing stopping someone from dumping the whole set of scores there, saying it's all from IMSLP and stuff, even if it's not officially connected with the site. Except that no one but Feldmahler and the other admins have access to it... (And thus, if something like that were to happen,...

I asked Feldmahler myself a week ago, this is the same response he gave me.

Aye... I suspect, once the research is finished and we start the plan, it will be fairly swift. But the research is the long and unpredictable part. :-/

That is eminently feasible... even easy (and the servers can be entirely different). Dunno whether that's the desired direction, though.

Maybe the US one would have http://www.imslp.org and the Canadian would have http://www.imslp.org.ca. This might also satisfy publishers as most would go to the more obvious URL. But that does give bias to the US one... which I don't exactly jump at the idea of. Maybe imslp.org could be the 'portal...

Lews (or Lewis?) Novy

I'm just trying to find any and all info and music related to a composer named Lews or Lewis Novy, from around the early to mid 1900s.

In particular, there is a ragtime piano piece that I'm looking for, but anything at all is helpful.

Thanks!

I've found that it's usually the bowings and articulation, and these do make a pretty big difference, in my experience.

Hi emeraldimp, Yes, I see your point. One thing I'm concerned is, while they can't restrict us on what we do to the scores once we purchased them, which could be distributing them for free because they are in the first place, I'm worried about what legal action they can take (if there are any lawye...

There are also, it seems, RSS and atom feeds if you don't want to actually subscribe or don't like email.

Ok, here's the scoop: http://groups.google.com/group/imslp-announce is the announcement group. Its purpose is for announcements. It is completely open with the exception of the subscriber list, which can only be viewed by list admins. The only accounts who can post to the list are admins. You can su...
