Re: J. S. Bach Manuscript

If the piece itself had been published earlier in an edition out of copyright in the US (BGA?), then I would say this facsimile printing is also out of copyright there.

Re: Problem with the work page for the Violin Sonata in C ma

Now corrected. The error is because the plate number got into the year field--it had a hyphen in it.

Re: Method that's teaching wrong material

Well I hardly think it's necessary (or something IMSLP would even consider) for it to be "suspended"; a note on the page ought to suffice.

Re: Problem with the work page for the Piano Sextet Op. 110

Fixed. It was caused by the inclusion of an em-dash in the template used in the publisher information field for the first file on the page.

Re: Hindemith Ploner Musiktag Trio fur Blockfloten 2008 edit

From the sample pages it appears to be a new engraving, not a reprint. We actually have a voluntary self-restriction wherein no new publication dating to within the last 25 years may be uploaded (unless we have permission obviously), so regardless of its actual Canadian copyright status, it cannot a...

Are you sure it didn't just require you to associate yourself as an editor with your own category page (not Carey's)?

Re: Selling Public Domain Sheet Music?

Any exclusive rights to the edition have long since expired; the initial Schirmer must have been at best a reengraving anyway, since Czerny died some 36 years before it was published. Anyone can do absolutely anything they want with it.

Re: Privacy and Pseudonyms

Are you thinking of this as something that one would not need an account to perform? If people use their individual accounts to upload their own works under a collective pseudonym, then they might as well each create their own composer categories, since their usernames are effectively distinct pseud...

Re: Bassoon parts for Milhaud Suite Symphonique #2

It's been on IMSLP-US for around three years; not sure what that has to do with anything. I can't open it on my computer either.

Re: Plug-in for iMac

Very little idea what you mean by that. You're saying you can't see links to MIDI files on this site (or others), or they just won't play? Did you try opening them in an external program (i.e., not within your browser)?

Re: A first edition Guatemalan Symphony of XIX century

Yes, that would be fantastic to have here - it would have to go under one of the Creative Commons licenses (rather than public domain), but it's definitely welcome on IMSLP. An outline of the uploading procedure can be found at this page.

It might also be advisable to wait a couple days before confirming that everything went through correctly, because of the server's caching mechanism. I doubt it should really take that long, but still, it definitely won't be instantaneous.

They are, they just don't have separate pages - they appear in their own sections on the page for the appropriate opera.
