Ignaz Moscheles - Tägliche Studien, Op.107

Passing on a request I received from another user seeking Moscheles' Op.107 the full name of which is "Tägliche Studien über die harmonisirten Scalen zur Uebung in den verschiedensten Rhythmen, ein Cyclus von 59 vierhändigen Charakterstücken in allen Dur- und Moll-Tonarten mit vollständigem Fin...

Re: Magazines and Periodicals

It appears to me that the main problem with posting journals is to figure out what "composer" the works get posted beneath. While Perlnerd's proposal to treat journal titles the same as composer names solves that issue it introduces one problem that to me would make uploading journals quit...

Re: Stephen Foster, Jeanie with the Light Brown Hair

Hi haydenmuhl, It has now been posted: http://imslp.org/wiki/Jeanie_with_the_Light_Brown_Hair_(Foster,_Stephen) . The Library of Congress' Music for the Nation Collection ( http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/mussmhtml/mussmhome.html ) contains high quality, black and white scans of many of Foster's songs (...

Re: Morgan Library Online Scores

Nice tutorial Generoso! I saw your original inquiry to Funper and have been toying with Dezoomify. I'm in the process of posting the MS for Brahm's Hungarian Dances. Interestingly, images from Morgan only take about 2 minutes to download and be stitched together on my pc but those from Juilliard tak...

I've added a copy (not the best available but it will do) from the Library of Congress. Spinnliedchen is here=>http://imslp.org/wiki/Musikalische_Genrebilder,_Op.14_%28Ellmenreich,_Albert%29

copyright status of an image

What would be the copyright status of an unattributed photograph (or an image of that photograph) made in 1888 of a composer who died in 1948? The composer's family still has physical possession of the photograph and it has only ever been published in the composer's 1996 biography. Thanks, Cypressdome

Re: Composer name question

Thanks Carolus. It seems only one other national library (Israel) lists Smith in VIAF. He's listed there as Wilson G. Smith. I guess we shall defer to the LOC.

Composer name question

Looking for some clarification before I add this composer (and probably change his name on a dozen work pages as editor). The composer is Wilson G. Smith (1856-1929). LOC Authorities list Wilson Smith as the authorized heading. Everywhere else he seems to be known as Wilson G. Smith which is how we ...

Re: page with arrangements

Hi Choul,

Click on the arrangements link on Mack's category page and add this:

{{ArrIntro|Edward|Mack}}

That should do it.

Re: Opera vocal scores without full orchestral scores

Of the works of Hadley posted on IMSLP there appear to be seven for which the NYPL have full score, orchestra parts, or vocal score in holograph or manuscript. I've posted links to the NYPL catalog entry in the "miscellaneous comments" section of each work's page. Would that appear to be a...

Re: Opera vocal scores without full orchestral scores

There would appear to be hope for Hadley's Cleopatra's Night as his ca. 500 page manuscript score and 5 archival boxes of orchestra parts are in the Performing Arts Research Collection of the New York Public Library together with many other Hadley manuscripts.
