Yeah, I haven't put the files up yet, sorry... I have some work to do on them still, and I'm incredibly busy right now (two recitals coming up, plus concerto performance with orchestra, schoolwork, other work, help!) I'll try to get it done sometime soon though.

For me it's about 5 seconds as well (I have a broadband connection through a wireless network). I often have pages that don't load at all, or load with server errors, such as "The browser sent a request this server could not understand". It happens quite frequently, and often I must relaod...

I think the original Muszyka editions should be readily available, from institutional libraries. I know the library at my university has a number of volumes from that edition (except I think it was published quite a bit earlier in the 20th century... I'm not quite sure exactly when, though). I'll se...

Fixing orientation

Is there a way to permanently change the orientation of the pages in a pdf file? I've got a file where not only is every page vertical, but they alternate as to counter-clockwise and clockwise rotation. I fooled around with pdftk but couldn't find anything there. Any tips?

well, Holst apparently wrote the two-piano verstion first.... "[The two-piano version] existed before the orchestral score was written out" (printed note on the edition). What do you think?

Wow, that's confusing! But it brought up something I was wondering about... when do we alphabetize the de's and da's and d's for composers? I added a category for Eugen d'Albert and put it under Albert, Eugen d' (because that's what Grove does). Should the other names (such as de Falla) be treated t...

Holst's Planets for two pianos

I have a scan of a two-piano reduction of Holst's famous orchestral suite, published in 1951. Is this uploadable?

I discovered the editor on the Balakirev: Konstantin Stepanovich Sorokin. I updated the work page to reflect that.

Yes, and there were some other files I uploaded by composers who died after 1956 (Joseph Marx, Alexander Goedicke..). What actions do I need to take to get them on the US server? And thanks for nominating the Balakirev scores. When I get my scanner working I'm going to try to scan the complete works...

I mean simply the name of the publisher; in this case, there is a big MASTERS MUSIC on the bottom of the first page of music. There are no copyright marks or anything, so I'm assuming then that it's OK? (What about the publisher's original title page?)

two quick questions

1. I have some files that have been scanned from reprint editions (like Dover). Do I need to remove any reference to those publishers?
2. is there a program that will easily decompose b&w pdfs into TIFF files (or other image format)? Thanks
