Re: Upcoming changes

I can't post long right now, but just two points: * I think expanding the number of files with the "View" button is an excellent idea. I will talk to Vladimir (who runs Peachnote) and see if we can expand it to include all files. * No CC-licensed material is subject to the 15-second waitin...

Re: Upcoming changes

First, I just wanted to clarify that all users who made more than 100 edits automatically received a 10-year contributor membership (which I just checked includes coulonnus and Aldona, of course). Someone a long time ago said that the first rule of a forum thread is that nobody will be able to convi...

Re: Upcoming changes

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately, there are several orders of magnitude difference in scale between Wikipedia and IMSLP, and as I mentioned, I've tried many different ways of funding with very limited success. Also, I echo again what I said in my initial post - I was actually not the one wh...

Upcoming changes

Hi all, As some of you may have noticed, there have been a few changes to IMSLP over the past few days, including the new logo. In addition to those changes, there is one more major change that will be implemented shortly, and about which I would like to give a bit more background. I've had some fai...

Re: Now accepting internship applications! Click here to apply

It is an unpaid internship program that Nick is running. I think of it as a more formal way of recruiting contributors who would be given a title (Intern) and specific projects. For example, a college student who is looking for work experience may want to apply.

Re: IMSLP panel at IMS/IAML conference in NYC, June 23, 2015

Thanks Feduol. Sounds like their focus was somewhat different from IMSLP's (except for the droits d'auteur issue which is relevant, though obviously we don't observe it), but good to know. Copyright laws for recordings are an unholy mess in the US, though luckily it's much better in Canada.

Music Usage Survey

I've been asked to pass along this survey that is currently running regarding usage of music scores, which I understand is to provide feedback to music publishers and content providers. The questions seem interesting, and IMSLP will also have access to the results, which may be helpful in making imp...

Re: Is there a problem with recordings?

Both cases are actually bugs - #2 being an unintentional consequence of the Live MIDI tab, and #1 being a bug introduced by me trying to fix #2 (isn't it just lovely). Both should be fixed now, but may take a few days to show up due to caching.

Re: How to find guidance for institutional projects

I think this is an excellent idea. We don't have a page yet (interactions with libraries have so far been via e-mail), but one may certainly be useful. Your experience would also be quite valuable insofar as addressing any questions libraries have - keep me posted and let me know if you have any que...

Re: revisions not implemented

Just a note that this issue is because one of the mirrors ran out of space and stopped updating itself. I've fixed the problem, but the mirror may take a few days to re-sync. The reason you are getting different versions is because the rest of the mirrors are still updating normally.

Re: Download arrow

Actually, Carolus and I discussed this last night. Someone accidentally deleted the interface images when they were cleaning out orphan files. I restored them.
