It's only a 15.7 megabyte file for the whole mass - what could possibly be wrong with that?

(Waits for the outraged screams of people on modem dialup...)

I'll get my coat.

Cheers, Philip

Dear Scott,

you probably needn't have bothered, but thank you anyway. The individual pages are from the Neue Mozart Ausgabe, and there is a project underway to begin uploading these in a more organised fashion than the contributor (Diapason) was doing - 1 page at a time...

Matthieu: hopefully there won't be too much overlap between our efforts thus far. I'll be redrafting the project page shortly to make it into a proper table, and one of the columns of the table will allow contributors to list volumes they already have worked on. If you refer to the list on the proje...

You're absolutely correct, Lyle. Dual nationality, or long residency in a country other than one's birth, makes the choice some of names arbitrary. As well as Schönberg, to choose the German or English spelling of Händel? Add to the list of problems: Di Lasso, Orlando -> Lassus, Orlande de Although ...

Nice try! I suppose yes, but only if I can delegate freely - since my time is fairly tightly demarcated at present!

Hi Feldmahler! I suppose the issue is how then should this proceed - I for one would envisage it as a project: firstly, to check the information on editors and volumes, to map out which of the individual pre-1982 volumes it would be permissible to upload. As you say, the number of editors is finite ...

(Bump) Hi guys, I noticed one contributor is uploading individual pages from the Digital Mozart Edition, and Matthieu has been very nice and posted a message for him to stop and desist for the time being - at the rate he is going he will be occupied for the next 15 years. Anyway, I just wanted to ra...

Peter: which volume of the BGA is this? If it is a true miscellany of items from the BWV catalogue, I suggest it might be better to provide the file "as is" or subdivided by some other system than for individual works. If you can let me know which volume, I'll download a copy and give it a...

I'm sending you answers to the test, though I should say I'm quite time poor at the moment and won't have a great amount of time to devote to copyright checking as a result :)

If you bear in mind that CPDL has a significantly smaller group of active contributors compared to IMSLP, especially when it comes to managing the Wiki organisation of the site, then you may begin to understand why nothing has happened of late :-) It also doesn't help that Rafael Ornes has had so li...

Bear in mind, although the quality of PDFs exported from Sibelius is usually exemplary, the score itself will still require proof-reading! This is why it is always handy to have a scanned-in score at hand, assuming that it actually was put in front of an editor for correction of proofs, before it we...

Thanks, Carolus, for your clear outlining of the argument here. As much as some of my editions have sat squarely under one of your four categories, other editions have straddled several (I can think of a performing version of one of my editions involving aspects of 3 and 4, which is also available a...

Hi Emeraldimp, the facts: yes it did have a non-CC license, yes it was improperly uploaded, but rather than request the wholesale and immediate removal of the score (as I could have done), instead I have temporarily changed the copyright notice on the work page to emphasise that I view the copyright...

There isn't much difference between the two licences, but pertinently under §3: License Grant, you will find these clauses in the CC by-sa full text: b. to create and Reproduce Adaptations provided that any such Adaptation, including any translation in any medium, takes reasonable steps to clearly l...
