SLUB Dresden has quite a number of Vivaldi manuscripts, if anybody has the time and inclination to import them here.

I think a few of them have been uploaded, but there are still many more.

40,000 Scores!
The counter on the main page is now reading 40,000 scores.
That's a very big number!
How shall we celebrate this important milestone?

Australian Doctor's Orchestra
I always say that "the medical profession is full of frustrated musicians" - and for the benefit of anyone who will be in Melbourne this Sunday and wants to go to a concert, I'd like to put in a plug for some of them. http://www.ado.net.au/ado/public/concerts/2009/concert2009.aspx All proc...

Re: Copy of manuscripts from the Austrian National Library
The Austrian National Library has lots of Schubert manuscripts.

Just the thought of seeing such a valuable collection mirrored here on IMSLP makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Re: [FEAT] - Birthdays?
I like that idea. It would be another way of drawing attention to the more obscure composers.
Plus, it would be fun checking the site on my birthday to see who I share a birthday with.

Re: piano
hi, i want to know how i can learn play piano with 2 hands at the same time. thanks I finally have to succumb to the temptation and write it before I go mad... "Practice." God, I feel so much better. That's absolutely right...and that's the same thing I tell my husband when he asks me for...

Duplicate File Submission
Hello all,
I have just uploaded the Quartet No. 2 for Flute and Strings (Op.95) by Gabrielski from Sibley - it got stuck and froze mid-upload, and then proceeded to upload the files twice.
Could I please ask one of the mods to remove the duplicates.
Thank you in advance,
Aldona

Re: Arrangements You Have Made
Schubert's "Arpeggione" Sonata - solo part edited & transcribed for alto flute in G.
Still a work in progress - tidying it up and correcting bits here and there.
The next challenge will be learning to play it.
(So many good intentions, so little time to practice.)

Problem with some Sibley files
I have been trying to import the following from Sibley to IMSLP: Graener - "Musik am Abend" Graedener - Piano Quintet Op.19 When I try to open the file to have a look at plate numbers, no. of pages, etc, an error message comes up: "The file is damaged and could not be repaired." ...

Re: Mahler, Overrated?
Uh, oh, this is going to get emotional . . . . . Seriously, though, without making people hugely upset, just because you think someone has no talent doesn't automatically make him evil, which is the connotation associated with Satan. (pulling up a chair, reaching for the popcorn and sitting down to...

Re: Problems with the Music World
I completely agree with your comment about the competitive/harsh/elitist tendencies in the classical music world. I do not exaggerate when I say that this is a major reason why I did not make music my career, and entered the world of medicine instead. We certainly had our share of horrible medical t...

Re: Opinions on Carl Maria von Weber's Works
I am not as familiar with Weber's works as I am with other composers of the same period, but what I have heard so far has impressed me a lot. At the moment his Trio in G Minor for Piano, Flute and Cello (Op.63) is on my list of Top 10 Favourite Pieces. There is something very addictive about it. And...

Trouble uploading Sibley files...
I have made several attempts at importing the Fesca Quartet No. 1 for Flute & Strings, Op.37 (4 files) from Sibley. First, there were illegal symbols in the filenames and so I saved them to my own computer under alternative filenames. Then, I have tried several times to upload them but each time...

Re: Bug Report? Bach Cantatas
Thanks for the info about BWV 200 - I heard it on a recording and thought I would try to hunt it down.
As for BWV 53 - sorry about not being more specific, it was the piano/vocal score that I was having trouble opening - it worked fine on the computer at work, it must be my home machine.
