Twitter - imslp

I thought I should mention that I am running a twitter account for imslp – www.twitter.com/imslp. If there are any moderators (wiki or forum) that want to help run it, speak of. Also, if there are and mods (again, wiki or forum) that have twitter accounts post them and I'll get imslp's twitter accou...

Re: Kindle

That rumour has been going for 7 straight years… so… And there are rumours that it will run Snow Leopard (as well as rumours for iPhoneOS). They say 10.6 because a lot of the new features could easily be used through touch. If they do release it (September/November2009 or early 2010) then it will be...

Re: Arrangements You Have Made

Mozart, Berlioz (not Beethoven - arrange him! make it better!), Strauss, Wagner, Mahler, almost all 20th century composers did know a considerable amount on instruments. And of course, composers are always much better authorities on instrumentation than mere arrangers. (Irony alert!) However, no mat...

Re: Request for Comments: Deprecation of MUS and SIB files

I would support MusicXML over all other formats. But I still don't see that much of a point.

It's boring for me, probably because I am a composer and there is (relatively) not much creativity in it. Pieces are tailored (in almost all cases) for certain specific instruments...

Re: Help Adding Media to Forums

It's enough to host some mp3s of you playing a piece though. Obviously, there are many reasons why others are better, but for the reason mentioned, I see no problem.

Re: Request for Comments: Deprecation of MUS and SIB files

It doesn't tell you which sub-menu the item is from, if that's what you mean. I understand that their are situations where having the source should almost be a requirement, but I don't believe IMSLP is one of those cases. We aren't an educational source on typesetting, and I don't see any point in b...

Re: Help Adding Media to Forums

I've said it before, but I don't like services like rapidshare (etc.). They have adverts, they make you go at their site (etc.). I still like Dropbox, you can put it in the public folder and it just goes from there. Here's a link if you want.
