Re: Arrangements You Have Made
None. Couldn't think of anything more boring than arranging other pieces (plus I don't believe anyone should arrange pieces anyway).

Re: Request for Comments: Deprecation of MUS and SIB files
What is the (likely) percentage of dial-up users? I know of no-one (personally or otherwise) that still uses dial-up.

Re: Music for a short film?
It shouldn't be downloadable though, unless there is more information. We are following US laws.

Re: Request for Comments: Deprecation of MUS and SIB files
What about Noteworthy Composer format? Why should we exclude the lesser known formats also? We should include ALL formats…… It's here where it gets very messy.

Re: List of Pieces with Russian Nationalism
Call it a preemptive strike. If Shostakovich is mentioned more often (especially in regard to nationalism) it is assured Volkov will come up. I knew it! Need I say I told you so? If you want to read something that puts a neutral (and amazingly not subjective) view on Shostakovich, read Laurel E. Fa...

Re: Rachmaninov Piano Concertos, overrated?
They aren't my favourite pieces, but I don't dislike them and there is nothing wrong with them at all. I believe there are better composed and more musical concertos out there (and would argue such) but in the end, it is still mostly subjective.

Re: Mahler, Overrated?
I'm well aware of what Wagner wrote, but they do contribute much to his opus (numbers aren't everything). Same with Puccini, Verdi and even Rossini to an extent.

Indeed! most composers do tend to decompose after their death.

Re: Mahler, Overrated?
Many of the 'Opera' composers rarely compose anything but operas. That said, I read somewhere that Mahler was planning to write some operas… but he died (the opposite I remember to have read being the case for Wagner).

Re: Petrucci Library Press
Why talk about Kindle instead of Sony Reader? Apart from the deal with Amazon, it's mention, as opposed to other ebooks, is that it has been getting a LOT of press coverage (recently, quite negative), so it is generally well known. gibarian, you've got to realise, Wikipedia's management get paid bu...

Re: List of Pieces with Russian Nationalism
Yes. Volkov is BS. That said, I'm not saying that Shostakovich loved Stalin any more than not everyone love Obama. Are those critical of of Obama dissidents? So you would consider Shostakovich's The Fall of Berlin and March of the Soviet Militia and Prokofiev's Hail to Stalin as Russian nationalism.
