Re: Anonymous, La Zingarella

Do we know whether this was one of the pre-existing works that was incorporated into the ballet? If so, then its later use in the ballet wouldn't affect the tags of the original work. On the other hand, if "La Zingarella" itself has no existence outside of the ballet, then it should be mov...

Re: Problem on Schubert's D.96

Yes, D.96 is Schubert's arrangement of Matiegka's Notturno, and so appears in the "Arrangements and Transcriptions" section of Matiegka's work page for the Notturno.

Re: Bach's Chorale Harmonisations

Yes, the page for "Chorale_Harmonisations,_BWV_1-438" is a bit of a 'fudge', required mainly to accommodate the Armendáriz editions, and it would definitely benefit from a reorganisation. My first thoughts are: We keep separate 'collections' pages for the 389, the 371 and Gounod's compilat...

Re: [FEAT]Translator parameter on work info level

The "|Translator" parameter isn't recognised, and will do nothing. It isn't needed though because Ganganelli is expressly described as the translator in the librettist field, and the {{LinkTr}} places the work in Ganganelli's category as a work he's translated (not as the librettist).

Re: [FEAT]Translator parameter on work info level

This feature does work Christian, and all you have to do is use {{LinkTr}} against the person's name in the librettist section, like this: |Librettist={{LinkLib|Johann Wolfgang von|Goethe}} (1749-1832)<br>{{LinkTr|Antonio|Ganganelli}}, Italian translation It's helpful to include birth/death dates wh...

Re: Krehbiel, How to Listen to Music.

We already have a "music aesthetics" tag, but I wonder whether that's the same thing as appreciation; if so, maybe "music appreciation" should replace it. What do you think?

Re: "Mass proper movements"

Sorry, I realised the tag should be in the singular (like the other mass movements), so it's "offertorium".

it will be interesting to see if any other examples are subtitled "Offertorium" as well.

Re: "Mass proper movements"

Luckily we already have the tag "offertoriums" (different from "offertories") which is defined as "chant, item of the Proper of the Mass; from the 17th century frequently performed independently of the liturgy". Breitkopf's edition of the Haydn score actually has the su...

I'd say just "folksongs ; it", with no instrumentation (assuming they are all in Italian?).

Re: One work with multiple composers

The earlier page for "2 Flute Quintets (Romberg, Andreas)" has the first and second quintets there, and your newly-created page has just the first. So I'll delete the files you just uploaded (apologies!) and redirect it to Andreas Romberg's page. The third quintet seems to be missing from ...

Re: One work with multiple composers

Yes, we already have some works like that. For example: * http://imslp.org/wiki/Sch%C3%BCtzen-Quadrille_(Various) * http://imslp.org/wiki/The_Easy_Instructor_(Various) Just make the composer "Various", and then add the "Collab" template at the top, and include both composer categ...

Looks OK now, someone must have fixed it already :)

Incidentally, we don't use middle names for Russian people any more, so her category is just "Shestakova, Lyudmila".

Re: broschi/farinelli, sabrina

Pastiches haven't made it into the MLA list, and ''Grove'' has multiple definitions, but classifying them all as types of opera: (i) Revival with substitutions; arias by various composers are substituted for pieces thought unsuitable for the available singers; (ii) True pasticcio: - (a) a patchwork ...
