I made several attempt by the past to contact Ray Izumi in order to clarify the copyright status of his Soler edition. Unfortunately none of the email addresses I found on the web (including the one mentionned on the "Chateau Gris" site) are valid. I think it will be pretty hard to contact...

Good to hear I won't have to scan it :D

Concerning your question, usually 2 separate files are posted: "Piano score" and "Violin part".

Peters edition of Schumann's sonatas Op. 105 and 121 was published ca 1890 (plate 7063, edition number 2367). The editor is Friedrich Hermann who died in 1907.

So, it is public domain worldwide.

I have this score and I will try to scan it as soon as I can.

Anyone has access to this gem ?

The adagio for string orchestra by Guillaume Lekeu (1870-1894) (a genial pupil of César Franck and Vincent d'Indy) is an amazing but widely ignored piece. Not convinced ? Listen to it ! (last item of the list) http://www.artes-vzw.be/engine.php?p=8&did=48 The score was published by Rouart Leroll...

Well, given the fact Stravinski died in 1971, he is quietly waiting 2022 to become public domain in Canada and appear on IMSLP...

But, the good news is that you have 14 years from now to increase your musical spectrum and, who knows, revise your opinion about Théodore Gouvy for example.

This kind early 1900s reedtitions of french baroque music are known to be very far (!) from urtext: extensive additions of fingerings, bowing and (rather romantic) dynamics. They are nevertheless interesting from an historical perspective. So, I would say that Bazelaire revision is not just cometic....

Imagine you print loads of scores from IMSLP, drive you truck to Vienna and put up a big sign saying FREE SHEET MUSIC. Then people start coming. - Do you have BWV 565? - Yes. - Can I have it? - There you are. And similarly: - Do you have Bartok's Piano Concertos? - Yes, but it would be illegal if I...
