Re: The most visually beautiful sheet music at IMSLP
I don't know about the actual music but Sydney Smith's Arlequin & Columbine has the most attractive coloured title page. The old Peters edition covers of Grieg, Sinding, Moszkowski etc., with their elaborately ornamented letterings, are also very pleasing visually. Many of Chaminade's pieces wer...

Rubinstein score and parts
Marvellous to have the site up and running again. Congratulations to all involved!
Does anyone know where I might locate the score and parts of Rubinstein's Second Piano concerto, either for hire or purchase?
Kalmus do 3-5 but don't seem to have got round to the first two.

No lawyer, me, but I know that Gershwin's works went out of copyright in the UK in the late 1980's and a few years later when I was enquiring about them at Chappell's (the London agent) I was informed that they were again subject to copyright restrictions, so I guess that new legislation can put wo...

Also, if what Mr Irons says is true, that the Mahler works are copyrighted because they are published by UE, then publishers worldwide will have a field day. For example, Dover and Kalmus reprinted lots and lots of sheet music that are public domain, they can simply claim copyright for all these PD...

I confess that I haven't read every contribution to this forum so I apologise if anybody has expressed similar thoughts to those which follow. One of the big attractions of the IMSLP site was that it made available many scores which were almost impossible to obtain otherwise. I found the site while ...

I suppose I must be one of the few users of this site who feels that the actions of UE over this matter haven't been particularly ogreish. I remember seeing works appearing on the site which carried a note warning that the copyright status was in question and were likely to be removed and I feel tha...

I have only just learned of this matter and am very sorry to hear about the site's demise. I am extremely puzzled by the fact that Universal Edition has acted in this way towards a non-profit making organisation whilst, at the same time, Everynote.com., a commercial concern, is still able to offer w...

Some while ago I bought "Bubbling Spring" and the "Tales from the Vienna Woods" transcription by this American pupil of Liszt and have recently been delighted to find quite a number of this pianist-composer's works available on the "American Memory" website. There is an...

Hello Alex. This is my first contribution to the forum. The first recording of the Rachmaninov fourth I owned was by Leonard Pennario and Andre Previn. Previn used a score which included some of the composer's own additions to the orchestrations which are not in the published score. As for your fing...
