Copyright Review: CDSM

Funper added a series of Liszt publications of CDSM. Although the CDSM logo was removed, the company's name is mentioned as the scanner. Is it wise to do this? Shouldn't it be better to remain silent about them?

work list

Funnper created a work list of Weber (http://www.imslp.org/index.php?title=Li ... _von_Weber).

This information comes from a copyrighted site.

The question is, to what extend is there a copyright possible on these facts??

Funper, if your plan is to start a flame war, don't bother.
But if you have reasonable arguments we can discuss, please feel free to throw them up.
Thank you.

I don't know if there exists a windows service for scanner sharing... File and printer sharing is no problem, but for a scanner you should need a specialised third-party protocol I guess. anyway, why sharing it? don't you need to be physically near your scanner ?

If you have problems removing the logo, let me know. I can decrypt and edit files relatively fast using acrobat.

This is the edition by Walter Schulz (1893-1967). From this page (http://www.cello.org/Newsletter/Article ... etham1.htm ) it seems to be an Urtext edition. So this would fall under the German copyright term of 25y, correct?

Copyright Review

Can someone (Carolus?) please review the copyright status of Beethoven's Cello Sonata No.1? I found these excellent scans on one of these russian sites, where they mention Peters, but I found no plate number.
Thanks.

German copyright

The section on the German copyright law in Historical Publication Info ( http://www.imslp.org/wiki/Historical_Publication_Info ) is very interesting for IMSLP. But I have some reservations. First, how can you identify Scholarly or critical edtions ? What are the criteria to fall in this category? Se...

an easier solution is to apply a white square above the text. then there's no need to edit the bitmap. as the text is in the same place on all pages, this can be automated with macro. I only know adobe acrobat can do this but there must be other programs too. It's important that there's no quality l...

If it's a vector in the pdf superposed on the image, you can remove them with adobe acrobat. but I fear it's embedded in the bitmap of the score, so you need to extract the image, remove the logo, and put it back in the pdf. if you encounter a logo of Cd sheet music, please drop a note, because thes...
