Re: Gyrowetz

The links are already there under collections, but in Gyrowetz' case, as well as Emanual Aloys Förster, they have an entry on the collections page, and also a separate page on the scores page. Do we delete the separate page? [edit] Czerny has both an individual and a collection entry too. Beethoven ...

Re: Gyrowetz

You are correct!! Didn't think of looking under "Various". In the meantime, I contacted Fynnjamin, and he said it was a simple mistake, there is no other publication of this, so he changed the voice type to bass. I'll do some links.

Re: Gyrowetz

It is no. LVIII of something. It would be useful to know whether this is from something larger. It might be from ''In questa tomba oscura : Giuseppe Carpanis Dichtung in 68 Vertonungen (1808-1814)''. If this isn't the original, then it may have been originally soprano. Maybe Fynnjamin should answer ...

Re: Merulo canzoni

OK, if it's "org" only, then the collection page is correct, but many of the individual pages have been tagged for 4 voices. As I do the links, I will change those. Thanks.

Re: Merulo canzoni

So he also intended them as instrumental pieces, for example, for 4 viols or other instruments?

Merulo canzoni

I am trying to give the Merulo canzonas a clean up (contents/links/tags), but I am running into a confusion. Grove Music says "Merulo’s ambitions for the printshop clearly envisioned a burgeoning market for keyboard music, however, for in his Ricercari d’intavolatura d’organo, libro primo (1567...

Re: RISM abbreviations

@Feduol: Thanks! that helps with this particular one. Where did you access the catalogue, just when I run into this problem again with different dates/superscripts. . .

Re: Jacques Offenbach. cellist

One other piece, a Musette/Air de Ballet, is on IMSLP in the cello/pf version, but it was originally for cello/orchestra.

It has downloaded perfectly twice for me. Try right-clicking and saving to your hard drive before opening it. See if that helps.

Re: Beethoven Overture "Namensfeier"

Then does it matter if a list of links have some {{LinkWork etc. types and one of a different type so as to give the visible link a different name? This page: http://imslp.org/wiki/S%C3%A4mmtliche_Ouverturen_(Beethoven,_Ludwig_van) includes the Overture in C under the name Namensfeier, but if I use ...

Beethoven Overture "Namensfeier"

Grove lists this as "Overture ‘Namensfeier’, C"

Our title for it is just Overture in C. Should our page be changed?

Re: New composer does not appear in the list

The system has a cache that has to clear, so sometimes you are looking at lists that are 2-3 days old. However, if you are logged in, I think you should be able to see what you uploaded. Post again in 3 days if you still can't see it.

RISM abbreviations

Does anyone know how to access the RISM list of sources? Grove uses RISM abbreviations, for example, in citing where a madrigal comes from, it might say "1596" with the superscript "8". Maybe I'm being thick, but I can't find on the RISM website what publication this is. I'm tryi...

Bassano, Motetti, madrigali

Motetti, madrigali et canzone francese (Bassano, Giovanni) Grove Music describes this collection as "examples of embellished motets, madrigals and chansons by Willaert, Clemens non Papa, Crecquillon, Lasso, Rore, Striggio, Palestrina and Marenzio", which would indicate that these are not ...
