Im pretty sure that there was a single piano reduction at some point, at the very least for rehearsals for the ballet itself, and im sure that i've heard that stravinsky himself played it while trying to convince the theater to put it on. How good/complete/playable this reduction was i have no idea,...

Thanks for the pointer, i don't have the film, but the soundtrack is readily avalible to buy online. I've just listened all the way through, and have to say im not very keen, it's ok, but i'd pick rachmaninoff over that every time. I have to admit i haven't ever listened to it properly, but what i have heard from it sounds very interesting, i won't say any more untill i've heard it properly.

So they are deffinately ok to upload. I have found a way of removing the russian titles etc, so the first lot of 50 should be up within a week. Hopefully....

I have now got 32 of the sonatas, and it's looking like i'll b able to get at least 30 per day, quite possibly more, at that rate i should have the whole lot within 3 weeks.

Is this site ok for taking music from and uploaing here? Especially the re-typeset stuff (like scarlatti sonatas).

If it is ok to get stuff from, i may try and get the set of scarlatti sonatas there (450 out of 550) if people want these.

I doubt that there is any easy way, i've checked all the US copyright office records (from 1978) and checked the 1950-1977 records on project gutenberg, i don't know if this covers it all, does anyone know if copyright could be renewed before 1950? hi, sorry about uploading a non-pd file, i should've checked more thouroughly. But would it be in the public domain in the US? It was publised between 1923 and 1963, and i've searched the records and have found no trace of the copyright being renewed on either this orchestration or the original work...
