Another thought - most of the works on IMSLP are scans. Does anyone know of an "electronic music stand" - a MUSICKINDLE (tm) - you saw it here first - to replace the paper we use? Hmmm... maybe with automatic repeat recognition... or with automatic advancing pages as you play ... just a d...

I would think (and hope) that as many of the pieces would be downloaded and then uploaded to other sites as quickly as possible. Just in case IMSLP decides to go down and take the entire site as well (AGAIN). If all these people have taken the time to scan (and/or find) pieces that are in the public...

I am sure that thousands of people have already scanned thousands of pieces and are waiting for IMSLP to go on line again in order to contribute these great works. It surely will be an interesting first few days when (if) it does come online again. I hope the server can handle the load! I know many ...

"Alles mit Gott und nicht's ohn' ihn" BWV 1127 is the piece that was written in 1713 and was lost. In June of 2005, it was then found among the documents of Anna Amalia in Weimar, Germany stashed in a box of birthday cards. It only missed being destroyed by only months when a fire ravaged ...

Sorry about that, I understand the need to be careful.

Vieuxtemps, Henri. (1820-1881)

I hope this helps?

Vieuxtemps

For your information, ArticWind7, I have added hundreds of scores to the IMSLP so I do know a little about whether or not a piece is Public Domain or not. Just because it is not on the IMSLP does not necessarily mean that it is not Public Domain!! This score most certainly IS! This edition of the Vi...

Vieuxtemps

Well until the IMSLP site is up and running I do not see any harm in showing you a link to the Vieuxtemps Concerto no. V, in A minor, for violin with accompaniment of orchestra. Op. 37. Edited and fingered by Henry Schradieck. With a biographical sketch of the author by Richard Aldrich

These editions differ in notes, articulations, dynamics, fingerings, rhythms, chords, phrasing marks, bowings, among other things. A performers editions would have things written down to help the performer such as hairpin crescendos and diminuendos or dynamics, (Bach only wrote "f" and &qu...

It has been announced also here: http://www.choralnet.org/ IMSLP is a site that has been contributed to by many people. How many man hours have been used to upload all of these scores. Check to see if the copyrights status is ok or not. Continually check to correct the wording of the newer users so ...

I have just written letters to CNN and FOX news in the hope that they shall hear about this incredible site and what has happened. I myself have taken the time between concerts and rehearsals and have contributed to this site because I saw that there are so many great pieces out there that are in th...

What's up with IMSLP.org

When I go to:
http://imslp.org/wiki/Main_Page
I get:
"404 - Not Found"

When I go to:
http://imslp.org/
I get:
"IMSLP server down for extended maintenance."

Does this have to do with the Second U-E cease and desist letter?

I have removed the trademark and pictures with photoshop. But somewhere along the line I lost the quality of the scan. Do you have any hints on keeping the quality? As you can see here is the original (with trademarks) http://imslp.org/images/0/0a/SSaen_Ce_AllApp43.pdf And here is my Photoshop work ...
