Ah, no wonder I missed it. I was looking for 'F'...and I thought it was orchestral. Ah well.

What about Faun and Shepherd, out of curiosity?
It's Op. 2, but it's gotten so few recordings I have to imagine it might actually not have gotten publication back then...

Orchestral music is a lot harder to come by when it comes to scores, and have a lot more pages, so take longer to scan. It's quite unfair to flame people for uploading the easier way, and for many people the piano reductions are very useful. This is especially true on both counts with opera -- the s...

The 1912 (?) suite, right? Forgot about that one. IIRC, he made actual orchestration changed in 1919 (and 1945) which he didn't in the first suite.

Hmmm, what about the 1919 version of Firebird?

No one does.
That's not quite true -- noone does with accuracy. But many places (eMusic and Pandora for instance) do use, I guess, IPs and do things based on where they assume the person's country is.

I believe making a personal use arrangement that isn't performed or shared is within your rights (at least in the US), but don't quote me on that.

It's certainly not anything that could be posted here, though, and certainly not selling it.

Or is it that as more material is added, the number of works that are still missing is less and less?
I imagine this, plus the fact that the initial push was from stuff that's been floating around for a while in the first place.

Stokowski died in 1976, so everything of his would be under Canadaian copyright (I'd love them too, but alas...)

I do agree it should be easier to get to the top composers. The main problem is, I think, that since the 'main' sorting method is by catagory, the seach engine isn't going to catch things. I like being able to 'go' directly to an article on Wikipedia, rather than 'search' for it (if you know what I ...

What I've always HATED about "most visited/most DLed" etc lists, is that that it often is biased toward itself. If a list if prominant like that, more people will visit them, and thus they'll remain on the list...

Huh, I didn't realize that site purged its archives. Basically, someone went to, I believe a Kinkos or some place similar, wanting to copy some Rimsky-Korsakov music. The employee (the one who was telling the story) said it'd be illegal -- which as we know is not nessesarily true. But the customer s...
