This is one of my favorite pieces, and I'd love to have a score of it.

That doesn't help in finding them in the FIRST place though.

Perhaps appopriate catagories -- "full score", "piano transcription", "orchestration", etc would be helpful, though of course populating such might be a chore.

All of Williams' Shosta/Dvorak/Mahler inspired works (...much easier to say 'all his movie scores but oh well) are very nice indeed. You probably mean "all his bombastic fantasy music", because he wrote far more than just that (I'd laugh at anyone who considered most of his 60s comedy mus...

(Maybe one day I'll submit my transcription of Schubert's "Arpeggione" Sonata for alto flute under a CC licence, but at the moment it needs a lot more work and I'm too shy... it's definitely a work in progress.) I would buy a recording of this :D And for the record, I think specifi...

That's a very good idea. Hell, it's a Wiki, a very easy solution -- make it a link to a new page from the "this hasn't been reviewed" page where someone can add to the list of things to prioritize in reviewing.

SheetMusic Archive "allegations"/"poaching&qu

Someone on Wikipedia has claimed that "IMSLP poached many scores from SMA: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... =223379104

Anyone know anything? It seems a bit odd. Especially in light of the fact it's all PD material.

The composer is indeed Bernardo B. Monterde. All I know is that the piece was arranged by Rafael Mendez (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Mendez). I'll have to check my notes for the CD I have of it to see if it says more.

It's violin and orchestra. Of course, there's also a piano reduction.

And it's a nice piece, quite worthwhile (it was, after all, commissioned by Heifetz, who surely knew the Sarasate). There's hoards of other Carmen fantasies out there too...

I think I just...well ok I won't use that euphamism.

But as Sibelius is such a favorite (I already have all five of the released Sibelius boxes), well you can imagine how much this excites me.

And as expected, it looks like there's no US-only server, with composers like Stravinsky -- will that be coming back at all? Still, it's great to see it return...checking out one of my favorite composers (Sibelius, who wasn't in Canadian PD until this year), I see a whole slew of yummy stuff.... -La...

Well, you do have to make new torrents, that's true. However, as long as everything has the name name and size, you can seed any old content with the new torrent. You also with most clients can choose to DL files of your choice, so if you just want new stuff, or only by X-composer, etc, it's simple....

Hmmm, well looking, it looks like they covered their tracks pretty well. The have "CD Sheet Music" at the top of every (?) page, not a logo, just text. There also seems to be a certain uniformity to the way it looks which now makes me think they did actually do all the work themselves (as ...

Actually, I just looked at SheetMusicPlus.com, and it turns out they're having a sale, and the volumes are only $16 each. I think I'll probably go ahead and order some of the violin ones. Anyone else? Well if you know where to look, one can easily find most if not all the SheetMusicPlus CDs for DL....
