I've just taken a look at karadar.it and it's a horrible site. Ads on every click and it's too difficult to download anything IMO.

I think it's nice to be able to hear the piece while looking at the score and to have both easily and freely accessible would be great. I'd be careful however. I think IMSLP is rapidly becoming THE place for free/public domain music scores on the internet. I don't want it to lose it's focus or to ge...

I would guess that it's measuring the whole domain narod.ru instead of nlib.narod.ru. I'm fairly sure that a sheet music site (especially that one) will never get that high. EDIT: After looking at the alexa site this is indeed the case. It lists nlib.narod.ru as the site and then just lists narod.ru...

Where did you get the mahler? '.tiff' is great! It's not so bad to convert them to pdf. There are a few (free) options that I've found: imagemagick's 'convert' and libtiff 'tiff2pdf'. I've tried 'convert' and it doesn't seem to handle ps or pdf files very well at all for images (maybe it's just me u...

Don't be so hard on your self. I don't think you're a jerk at all :). All internet communities are bound to pick up a jerk or two after all.

(Sorry, that's how I read it the first time. I'm just kidding.)

(sorry that was me in the last message) Here's another error I just got: ----- IMSLP has a problem Sorry! This site is experiencing technical difficulties. Try waiting a few minutes and reloading. (Can't contact the database server: Access Denied (MYSQLHOST)) ----- I got it when trying to upload a f...

Mostly mysql errors, but I also remember seeing another one where the imslp logo didn't even show. I haven't seen any in the past day or two which leads me to believe the problem has been fixed (Thanks!). I'll be sure to take a screen shot next time.

Loading errors of all kinds

Are all of these problems we're experiencing because of the new host? It's quite frustrating. Is there anything that we can do to help? Thanks!

I think they are ok if the PDF's themselves are public domain. For example, http://www.everynote.com/ sells public domain scores in the form of PDF's but the pdf's themselves are copyright (I believe it's the scan that's actually under copyright so converting it won't do). I'm not sure there's a way...

No offense meant, but Albeniz is the only spanish composer that I know. The Spain is I guess a forgotton spot in classical music :). I tend to think of guitar music when I think of spain unfortunately. So I guess you have a great opportunity here. Add your public domain spanish music and teach us ab...

In my opinion the work pages don't need to be very customizable and should look as uniform as possible. This would make the maintenance much easier in the future. You just change the template and *POOF* all the pages are automatically updated. Also I have to say that I think IMSLP has grown quite ni...

I came across this site the today: http://mus.lib.ru/ I'm not sure about the legality of all the scores though. I don't really know how to go about assesing that either. Anyways it looks like it has a few good scores.

It looks nice and clean to me. I think I like it better. Also I prefer the lower table padding (of 0).

What is "all of the major treatise"? Currently the symphonies and many concertos of Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Borodin, Rachmaninoff and others are missing from IMSLP. I consider all of these (and more) major works. If you're talking about some sort of excerpt book, it would ...
