Ok, here's the problem. For some reason some of the slashes are being escaped. When I manually enter http://imslp.ca/images/imslp.ca/1/1a/Mo ... C_K550.pdf it works.
I still haven't found a pdf link that works. Here's an example: http://imslp.org/wiki/Symphony_No.40_%28Mozart%2C_Wolfgang_Amadeus%29 When I click on the top pdf I get the following error: The requested URL /images/imslp.ca/1/1a/Mozart_-_Symphony_No_40_in_G_minor,_K550.pdf was not found on this serv...

Strauss Horn Concerto
I'm thinking of scanning this piece. Here's the first page of a score I tracked down: http://open-scores.sourceforge.net/score0003.tiff . It looks like it's a reprint of Universal Edition 1592 which would seem to have been published in the early 1900's (pre-1923). (I think it says it's from the &quo...

Does wikimedia not handle caching of pages already? I'm not too familiar with its internals. If not I remember reading a while back about wikipedia using squid proxies to do some caching for them. Perhaps that's overkill though. Another option is to only do it once when the file is added. This howev...

[FEAT] Count PDF Pages
It would be nice not to have to manually input the number of pages in a PDF file. (It duplicates info already in the PDF). Here's a command to get the page count: pdftk sc01.pdf dump_data | grep NumberOfPages | awk '{print $2}' Not a huge deal, but it would save a bit of work. Especially on those pa...

If you did the re-typesetting work then the copyright is yours. IMSLP prefers a creative commons license for things like this if you do submit. If you have a score (like the beethoven sample) already done I think it would be useful. Another benefit would be to extract the individual parts which don'...

Neat! I have peter's same question how does one find other scanned scores that they have? I tried for a little bit without luck. Also many of these scores are quite large. It might be worth it to try and compress them. Something along the lines of http://imslp.org/wiki/Optimizing_PDF_Compression.

You're going to have to buy or rent the parts. We don't have them here yet. Someday I'm sure we will have them. You could always have your students buy the parts themselves from http://www.orchmusiclibrary.com/.

I have access to my school's orchestra library and could scan some parts if there are specific requests. It's your time, but it would be nice to get the parts to some of the basics here at some point (i.e. Orchestral works of Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, ... ok I ask too much). I don't b...
