Re: reger, "espressive e marcato"
The slur would take care of the legato part, so it will be legato anyway. I guess the main problem is marked and slurred at the same time. Any ideas on that?

reger, "espressive e marcato"
To any Reger specialists or enthusiasts: This marking comes up in the Clarinet Sonata op.107, under a line that is entirely slurred. I'm used to seeing marcato under tongued passages, but not under slurs. And I take it that Reger has used it on passages in other works as well. It could be something ...

robert stark, walzer-capriccio and concerto no.3
I notice that the University of Melbourne library has these in stock, both should be PD, and they would be an interesting addition to the clarinet repertoire. Is there anyone on these forums that has access to this library and would have time to scan these?
Thanks in advance

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
Wind bands vary hugely in their overall size. The largest concert band (as opposed to marching band) I played in had 6 on each clarinet part, i.e. 18 in total, 1-2 Eb clarinets, 1-2 of each of the low clarinets, 2 oboes, 2 bassoons, 4 on each of the flute parts, 2 piccolos. However, some of the smal...

Re: Liszt - Hungarian Rhapsody - Orchestral Parts
These could be cross-referenced in the comments field, e.g. "Orchestrated version at [link]", and vice versa "piano version at [link]". Personally, as an orchestral player, I always thought that the piano numbers would be the same, and only realized they were different when I had...

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
If the corno basso is a bombardon, then that still leaves the problem of what modern instrument to put this on in order to get a performance with modern wind band. Opinions from brass specialists, please??? Bassetti (referring to the plural), I still think, in this context would refer to any low cla...

Re: Template design for parts in the OP Project
The tab idea sounds like a perfect solution. That way, no one has to concatenate the pdf files that come in individually from the orchestral parts CDs, and it's organized, clean, and doesn't clutter up the original page. Can we vote for that now?

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
Forgot to look at the clef . . . . . corno basso, if it's a horn transposing at a 9th, will be in treble clef. So this is still a mystery. Having made a cursory look at the bassoti parts, the range fits the fingered range of all clarinets -- in some cases a passage goes down to low E and then turns ...

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
AHa!, that helps a bit. The Corno Basso is a horn part in Bb, so as audunsj says, this is a horn part where the transposition is 9th lower. This one is definitely now solved. The "Bassotti" is situated between the clarinets and bassoons, so it could be in either family, but at least we are...

Re: Template design for parts in the OP Project
If I could just weigh in on one aspect of this debate, I'm not sure there is a "one-template-fits-all" solution to this. The most unwieldy scenario I can think of is that eventually, IMSLP might have full orchestral parts to some of the bigger operas. At 50-60 pages each, no one is going t...

Re: Bergson: Luisa de Montfort
The score exists in the Danish Royal Library, but it doesn't seem to be digitized, because it doesn't come up on the search for digitized music. Hopefully, their physical set is complete. I've never worked out how to request digitization, but I think other people who contribute to this forum have do...

Re: help instrumnts!!!!!!!
The instrument books I have access to have nothing on "bassotti", so I am admitting defeat on this word, although not without one last stab at possibilities. There is a "bassonetti", which appears to be a small bassoon. And also, my Italian violinist friend, although she doesn't ...

Re: clarinet concerto Karl Stamitz
The only edition I have access to is Peters, and the piano reduction was done by Johannes Wojciechowski. He died in 2005, so this edition would still be protected. I personally don't know of any other editions, so if anyone else can help here?

Re: clarinet concerto Karl Stamitz
Karl Stamitz wrote many of these. You will need to give a number in addition to the key, since in some cases there are more than one of the same key. Also, many of the reductions are still under copyright, but I would suggest you give the key and number and that will at least be a start. It might al...
