1. You can choose to use the forum or to use the discussion tab of a page. Chances are bigger that your thread on the forum will be read. The discussions on the tab should be specifically about the subject of that page. And better not use the discussion tab of general pages like the main page. 2. I ...

I suppose you want to get up to speed on IMSLP (www.imslp.org)? If you want a quick introduction, I think it's best to read on IMSLP the Submission Guide (Walktrough) and Submission Guidelines, the help page, IMSLP:Contributing scores, and the public domain page. All links are on the homepage. Succe...

If you go to the IMSLP page, you'll now see a publication history for the piece. It should be fairly easy to obtain a copy in most versions. The Liszt transcription is something of a rarity, BTW. Somewhere I read that Leslie Howard (who recorded all Liszt's works) will be publishing the Liszt compl...

Also, I noticed that the File Description template now has an aqua background color and takes up a lot more width than previously. I have to strtch my browser window to fill the entire monitor to fit it in - and I have am 18 inch monitor. The items with manuscript scans all appear with lines of cod...

I don't feel a difference - the server has been a pain in the arse for months. Slow loading is bearable, but way too many dead pages and errors - especially when you're editing this is hard to live with.

Has anyone seen the traffic double today ??? This must be a bot that's crawling us.

New colors

Wouldn't it be time to change the color scheme of IMSLP? It's a little worn off, isn't it?
The problem would be to find every possible template and page to change colors. Can wikis cooperate with css so that the colors are specified on one style sheet ?

Re: Fixing a page to use the new design...

I was wondering what is the best method to fix a page which is using the original style for listing the score information. The one with all text, to the one with borders and slight greenish colored background. Should we just copy all the infomation, submit the page for deletion and then resubmit th...

We can treat these works the same way as the numbers in the beginning: categorize them as symphony no. 02 and the order should be correct.

Edit: just tried it with the Beethoven piano sonatas and it works perfectly. Maybe Feldmahler can create one more of his magic scripts...

I did not read your message before today... IF someone needs an english reply please notify. Ik had enkel de paginatitel veranderd (vewijderen van nummer) omwille van de alfbetische opsomming in de componistpagina. Dat hoeft nu niet meer, omdat nummers automatisch niet meer worden opgenomen in de so...

I also just noticed that the link to the downloadable scans is working at Gutenberg again. It automatically bounced to the main sheet music page for about the last year, which is why I looked up the archive on the way-back machine. They appear to have scanned a number of Dover scores for some works...

carolus, we need a law enforcer around here, and you seem to know the copyright laws best, so we thank you. you are completely right that IMSLP sould be as clear as possible on non-public domain works. I think we're doing very good. Most non-PD-submissions are very quickly noticed. In my opinion, th...

"de" in French just means "of", so in de Lully = "junior". So we would best keep French d(e)'s as de Lully alphabetized under L, and d'Albert under A, and d'Indy would be under I. For de Falla, I think that "de" has the same meaning in spanish, but I have a fe...

Adobe Acrobat can do this, among a lot of other functions. But this program is not free... And don't know if a linux version exists.
