Website Issues

It has been brought to my attention that the website might have been slow recently due to load issues. However, because I work on the website a fair amount (coding, etc.), my connection to it has stayed fairly fast, which makes me suspicious that my connection being fast might be because of caching....

Well... you can change the entire skin in the "Skin" tab in "My Preferences"; though at the moment Monobook is the most polished skin (probably also why it is the default). Personally, I'm *horrible* with colors, so I can do almost nothing in that regard. However, if you want to,...

Well... IMSLP is designed as an addition-only system, so you will have to fix the file, upload it with a different name (maybe add "(fixed)" at the end of the filename?) and resubmit it :) I'll take care of the page cleanup.

If the file is a PDF file, you can split the file into multiple chunks (you can do it by movement if you want) using PDFtk ( http://www.accesspdf.com/pdftk/ ). Basically, you can do something like: pdftk input.pdf cat 1-20 output output.pdf If you don't know how to use the command line, you can use ...

Hi there Sphemusator :) Long time no see! Anyway, here's the situation in Canada: Both Holst's orchestral and 2 piano versions are public domain in Canada since Holst died more than 50 years before (and the publications were before 1956). However, the arrangement of Planets by Lasker and Day is not ...

Thanks! I haven't yet received it, probably due to some mail server weirdness on my part (the mail server seems to delay e-mails or something)... however, if you see a bounce back (error message) on the e-mail account you sent it from, please e-mail a plain text message (with no attachments) to me, ...

An anonymous donator whom I correspond with has showed interest in scanning the Sleeping Beauty (he has a Eulenburg reprint of Muzika), but his score (and I assume all of the reprints are the same) is 1082 pages long. And so he would like it if the scanning can be split between him and other people....

The problem is that IMSLP is not yet incorporated (i.e. not officially an organization). The incorporation process in Canada is fairly expensive (the raw processing fees total around $400), and the paperwork is quite a mountain (especially all the guidelines you have to read). And so, I'll probably ...

I've just fixed this in the latest Add Work special page :) Now, the Add Work special page will pad all numbers in the piece title with 0s up to 4 digits (ex. No.4 --> No.0004) in the category sort key. I've also added "La" to the list of words that should be moved to the end of the title ...

An anonymous donator has requested to nominate his scan of the London Symphony (Haydn No.104) and the Trumpet Concerto from the same composer (which I'll submit soon) :)

I'm still waiting for a few more nominations before I choose one :)

Well... I think you'll have to disintegrate the PDF file (and hope it only has one image per page). This would require several tools: pdfimages (to rip the images out of the PDF file) from the xpdf toolkit, and convert (to convert the images back to PDF while rotating them) from Imagemagick, and fin...
