Well... as you can see (with Jean-Baptiste de Lully (ii))... changing the title of a Composer category is a pain in the rear lol, and so if Falla can be ordered under "De Falla" (and apparently the other "de"s are also this way), it might be a good idea to leave it this way lol (...

Well... this would depend on who reduced it to the two-piano version; if the reducer (for the lack of a better word) died before 1957, than it is in the public domain in Canada... otherwise I'm afraid not...

I've fixed the Rossini duplicate. The two Lullys are actually not duplicates; a violist e-mailed me and notified me of a wrongful attribution to Jean-Baptiste Lully of a piece that was composed by his son who had the same name (apparently, "de" is always used in the son's name but usually ...

There are indeed times when this happens (the host is horrid). I would love to see this piece on IMSLP however; and so if you have a way of getting the file to imslp@imslp.org (maybe split it in two?) I'm willing to upload it for you :) If you can't think of a way you can just e-mail me and I should...

Kalmus, and their subsidiary Masters Music are currently scanning all of their PD source scores at a full 1200 x 1200 dpi monochrome, which (as you can imagine) is requiring them to invest in many terabytes of storage space. Wow... is there even an advantage to that over, say, 600 dpi? Except for m...

Hmm... I'll wait a bit and see if there's any other nominations; I would have put it up immediately, but the editor is not specified... even if it is simply "none". Otherwise, quite a good set of scans :)

Wow! Nice find. The files originally appeared corrupted to me too... but then I realized it was a bug (perhaps deliberate?) on the part of archive.org; when you download a file through their site, you are never able to download the last byte of it, and so it may seem corrupted. However, when I went ...

I'll move them right now :) I really should find a way to automate the process... I could allow uploads to the US server directly, but it won't be part of the wiki and I'm afraid some guy with too much free time would abuse it... maybe I'll implement some sort of logging process that will record the...

Well... If by original title page you mean the title page of the reprint publisher (the publisher who reprinted the score), then it's best to not include that page, since the page *is* under copyright. Otherwise (i.e. you mean original as in the original publisher) the title page is also in the publ...

1. I don't think so... do you mean the reprint publishers or the original ones? Though I don't think removing either would be necessary. Though, what exactly do you mean by "references"? Copyright labels? 2. There are several ways. The best I found is to use pdfimages from the xpdf command...

Nominations for Featured Score status

Hi people! It has been bought to my attention recently that there hasn't been a featured score on IMSLP yet... and I intend to fix this :) And since IMSLP is a community, I would like for people to nominate scores that they think should be considered a featured score. However, IMSLP currently has so...

Yes... I saw that site when I was browsing the referrer section of the logs... but the site is still quite slow :/ I thought it was a very nice thing for the Mozarteum to do... but too bad the files themselves are still under copyright, and cannot go on IMSLP :( No matter though, IMSLP will continue...

Hi Carolus! How large was the file? The hosting is pretty bad right now, so it is very likely that uploads will time out. Unless the file is larger than 100MB (in which case it's over the max file size), it should be allowed on the wiki if the upload completes successfully. Also, if the upload break...

BWV score shown as negatives

Last night I was recompressing the all .pdf files that had "BWV" in the filename (due to me finding out that the compression was sub-optimal), but forgot to check the files after the recompress script completed (too little sleep?)... so now all the BWV files are negatives. But I'm currentl...
