Re: What are these accesses to other sites for?

Assuming this works on Windows the same way as on Linux, you can block attempted connections to (or from) other servers by redirecting them to 0.0.0.0 (kind of a "null" IP address). E.g., in my /etc/hosts I have 127.0.0.1 localhost (...) 0.0.0.0 www.facebook.com 0.0.0.0 m.facebook.com 0.0....

Re: What are these accesses to other sites for?

I think the site has some embedded javascript from several sites because of heavy linking to them as an affiliated resource (Peachnote, ?Olympiana.fm, ?Joytunes) or because of donations (Paypal). A while back I actually blocked the Peachnote website in /etc/hosts because it was holding things up--it...

Re: Upcoming changes

For the record, Feldmahler announced this in the Moderation Forum on December the 13th. It was presented as a done deal at that time, essentially. ... I understand that, without more information, it's hard to know what to think of him ... The lack of information is precisely one of the most damning ...

Re: Error in attributions, May the Circle Be Unbroken

You should be able to easily change these things yourself, through use of the 'edit' tab appearing at the top of the page when you're logged in.

Re: Victor Herbert. Orange Blossom. Pages blank.

Have you tried saving the file to your computer rather than simply opening it in your browser? For me it displays perfectly fine--don't see any issues with it whatsoever. On your machine, is the archive.org viewer also not displaying anything?

Re: revisions not implemented

Edit the page for the file (i.e., the one starting with 'File:', which is the same place from which you would upload a new version) to contain the text {{delete}}, or {{delete|reason goes here}}; someone with sysop rights will then see to actually delete the file.

Re: Estienne Roger

I have to agree that it would almost certainly be clearer in general if the other tabs (compositions, etc.) appeared from the Arranger page--the subcategories are a little disconnected from their parent as it is.

Re: revisions not implemented

I think he meant to simply upload an entirely new file with a different name--if you're uploading a new version of a file it does not change the filename used on the server. This method is a solution in general, of course, but it would be a lot nicer if the file revisions worked reliably in the firs...

Re: File revision not implemented?

Cypressdome contacted Carolus about it on the wiki, so I'm guessing Feldmahler will be hearing about this soon (assuming he hasn't seen it already).

Re: File revision not implemented?

I too am now seeing the old revision only; its modification time is given as Fri 12 Sep 2014 08:39:58 AM EDT (!). I just tested things out by manually tagging the file U/U/U, and what happened was that the correct file was copied to http://imslp.org/imglnks/restimg/4/49/e8f1-PMLP02799-kinder4.pdf . ...

Re: File revision not implemented?

Bob, are you positive your latest new version of the file (26 Oct.) was exactly the same upload as the one from the 25th? What I'm seeing is that the 12 Sep. and 26 Oct. files are identical, and 'incorrect', while the 25 Oct. version has all of the changes mentioned. (A direct link to the latter ver...

Re: Robert Stolz Frühling in Wien

I have no idea how feasible these would be for your orchestra to obtain, but it appears that DNB has a copy of the score, while there appears to be a set of salon orchestra parts in Schwerin.

Re: Are any piano scores listed by difficulty?

There’s no “correct” rating because of course they’re subjective. So you're saying you'd like a useful listing of works by difficulty, but you're also fine with it being of no real use because difficulty is "subjective"? Even players of similar caliber will have widely diffuse views of wh...

Re: Search by file type?

There isn't such a feature, no; and since there are so few file formats allowed I am afraid it might not be of too much use, unless it were to locate the handful SIB and MUS files we still have from several years ago when they could be uploaded.
