Hi Carolus,
Would that explain why Dover stopped publishing works by Prokofiev and Shostakovich? I recall that Dover once published "Four Orchestral Works" by Prokofiev but has since stopped.

Daphnis, are most of the Stravinsky works that you are going to post in another site published by Dover?

Carolus, on a side note, is it possible to include links to other sheet music sites as well besides Amazon? For example, Sheet Music Plus, JW Pepper, Schott, Kalmus, Boosey and Hawkes, Brietkopf and Haertel etc. This is because not all public domain music are necessarily sold by Dover/Amazon.

The old way is to use programs such as Photoshop to manually crop out the intended orchestral parts, page by page, and arrange them in order in a new pdf file. This, however, is both tedious and time consuming.

I believe the song you are referring to is from No. 31 "Apotheose" of Tchaikovsky's ballet score. It is in G minor and it's adapted from a popular French song "Vive Henri Quatre".

Now listening to Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf and Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra. Both are great works of introducing musical instruments to young children.

The full score of the Christ of the Mount of Olives is available from Dover publications:

Note that the choral parts use the old clef system (soprano, alto, tenor and bass clefs).

I don't know if it's legal or not, but I've listened to previous performances of the BBC Proms in Youtube, notably Pictures at an Exhibition.

You can try J. S. Bach's Violin Concerto in E major as well as Vivaldi's more famous violin concertos (Op. 3 and Op. 8). I think his Four Seasons should not be too difficult for the average violin player. Maybe Mozart's 5th violin concerto in A also.

The 1942 Grofe orchestration of the Rhapsody in Blue full score was once published by Warner Brothers. I wonder if this is the same (reprint) as the Eulenburg edition?
