Re: Dohnanyi, 1st Piano Quintet, parts

We digitized our copy. It hadn't been done before because we were missing the first violin part, but it was supplied by another library. You can find our scan here: http://hdl.handle.net/1802/28293.

Re: MLA Conference, Atlanta, USA Feb 26-Mar 2

There won't be a conference proceedings, as such, produced for the meeting. However, there will be writeups of many of the sessions in the MLA newsletter, found here: http://www.musiclibraryassoc.org/?page=newsletter.

Re: sol fa notation of choral pieces

According to NG2: A form of musical notation and the system of teaching sight-singing which depends upon it, both devised by John Curwen in mid-19th-century England. One of the few alternative forms of notation to achieve international use in modern times, Tonic Sol-fa had its origin in Guidonian so...

Re: MLA Conference, Atlanta, USA Feb 26-Mar 2

I'll be there, of course. In my capacity as Assistant Convention Manager I'll have my hands full during the run of the convention. A lunch would work better in my schedule. BTW, not all music librarians are as cantankerous as some of the more outspoken examples you might have read recently.

Re: Is it copyrighted without the © symbol pub. before 1998?

The issue of compliance with US copyright customs, especially for works published outside the US, is relatively complicated. The best source I've seen for making any sense out if it is Cornell's PD chart: http://copyright.cornell.edu/resources/publicdomain.cfm. I hope this helps.

Sorry, but our copy is missing that leaf. What's there is all that we have (this is indicated in the description found in URResearch).

Re: Cui Kaleidoscope Op.50 Missing No.19

This was one of our earlier scans (assuming you are referring to http://hdl.handle.net/1802/4303 ), and is actually from a binder's collection (that is, separately published works bound together on the shelf). Today we would make separate records for each of them, and make separate scores and parts ...

Re: Issue with newly posted facsimile of Morale's masses

If you are referring to our scans of Christophori Moralis Hyspanlensis, Missarum liber primus , these were taken from microfilm (see our http://hdl.handle.net/1802/21916 ). Take a look at these files and if you can identify which of the 6 pdfs contains the error we can see if the problem was in the ...

Here are several works that we have digitized: https://urresearch.rochester.edu/search ... ctionId=63. A lot of works for 2 violins, 2 oboes, or oboe/violin, and piano, also will work with a flute substitution.

We do not have any editions from 1838. However, we have digitized the 9th symphony, published in 1853 by B. Schott's Söhne. You can find it here: http://hdl.handle.net/1802/15795.

Re: Antal Fleischer, Quintuor

The Németh book apparently has a works list, but we don't own it. I only see 3 libraries that do: NY Public, the British Library, and a library in Slovenia. You might try an ILL photocopy request for just the works list.

Re: Antal Fleischer, Quintuor

There is a biography of Fleisher in Hungarian by Amadé Németh. According to the abstract in RILM: "A biography of Fleischer (1889-1945), a composer, conductor, and pedagogue. Fleischer was director of the Magyar Királyi Operaház from 1920-39, where he presided over the Hungarian premieres of ma...

We are in the process of digitizing a volume of his church works, Vol. 13 of DTO. It contains: Acht Motetten (2-3 voices and organ): Caro mea vere est cibus. Ego sum panis vivus. Benedictus Deus. Re: Jaques-Dalcroze Esquisses Rythmiques

Sibley does, indeed, have all the volumes, but it's a little confusing, bibliographically. You've seen the part we have already digitized. We also have a 3-volume set (well, it's 4 volumes in that there is a separately published introduction, followed by 3 other volumes, all under the general title ...
