Forgot to upload engraving files
I'm a fan of the new interface for uploads, but I forgot to upload the engraving files of my new edition, and I don't see a way to add files onto existing editions. The file I want to add (with label: "Engraving files (MuseScore)") is here: http://imslp.org/wiki/File:De_touz_les_biens.zip ...

Re: CC-Zero license for typesets?
Apparantly CC-Zero is now an option, but I don't know since when; a big thank you in any case.

Re: A Copyright Problem until 2084
First of all, my condolences for being in this situation. I don't think you could've uploaded the poem here either way, unless you had managed to persuade the widow to choose one of the creative commons licenses. I don't dare give a definite answer, but compare with the situation of George Gershwin'...

Re: Copyright Tags !N/!N/!N
The copyright tags are explained here: viewtopic.php?t=1345
U just means the copyright reviewers hadn't gotten around to approving your upload yet, but now they have. It looks like a great addition too, so good work!
I hope the team doesn't mind me fielding this question.

Re: Typesets by IMSLP contributor found elsewhere
This is a bit of an odd case. Schneider's edition on archive.org originated from IMSLP. If you click the "show more" button it will show you the source and the url given leads you to this deleted page on IMSLP. Back in 2012 a large chunk of IMSLP scores were backed up to archive.org and t...

Typesets by IMSLP contributor found elsewhere
This is about count van Wassenaer's six Concerti Armonici [1]. I've found very good editions of most of them on archive.org (example [2]), by one Thomas A. Schneider, who I'm strongly betting is IMSLP user "Theatersokrates" [3], with a composer page [4] referencing 21 editions by him, all ...

Re: What is "commercial use" of sheet music?
Not all performing rights societies recognize the Creative Commons licenses, though some do. The definition of a commercial performance varies as well. In the USA, the rule is that performance fees are due as long as anyone connected with the performance is paid, with the sole exception being perfo...

What is "commercial use" of sheet music?
Does it pertain only to the sale of the written material, or also to performances that utilize it? In case of the latter, what overlap is there with the performance restricted licenses? I can't find any information about this.

Leichte Kavallerie Ouverture - Organ Arrangement is actually a Horn Part
It looks like User:Ldeutsch tried to upload an organ arrangement of her own, but accidentally duplicated an upload by User:Violagal on the same page (Horn IV transposed to F, located under 'Parts'). In addition to the incorrect attribution of the horn part, the duplicate upload is marked as CC-BY ra...

CC-Zero license for typesets?
CC-0 is a Creative Commons license that exists to waive all your rights (including attribution) to the fullest extent possible in any jurisdiction. It's like a Public Domain mark, except for one's own works. This is the license I would like to apply to my typesets; right now, I'm only allowed to cho...

Re: Upcoming changes
I also wanted to argue against using CC-NonCommercial as a way to protect your content from misuse, because once you put a NonCommercial or NoDerivs clause on your work, you are keeping yourself exclusively in control of your work, making it non-free (as in freedom). I fear a NC-license is still ne...

Re: Upcoming changes
Hi. I feel a little silly for registering just to talk about licenses a bit, but I just wanted to clear up some things regarding Creative Commons, as I fear some members are being dissuaded from contributing because they underestimate the freedom that all contributions already have. When you contrib...
