May I suggest you to start a Swedish speaking thread. I am sorry but your post is most likely useless for a vaste majority of readers.

I would not support for one moment handing the IMSLP repetoire over to the Swedish Pirates - IMSLP should remain within the law to continue to "provide the most public domain music to the citizens of any particular country, as permitted by law". You don't hack off your hand to cure a hang...

it is more honorable being died than a crippling.
So do not hesitate: just go
i would take over the site but i am afraid that i wouldn't give a shit for copyright laws, and it would probably end up being a site like piratebay.
For the rest... no comment

The solution: Funper takes the whole site and reopens it as the head. He has obviously all the qualities and bravery for this

We need to organize, call for a general supporting fee and help clean the site of UE request authors,.. meanwhile... I see as the only and effective way to preserve IMSLP... Cleaning the site of UE request authors is just a 15 min job. The problem is not there ! Pease read, Feldmahler's letter ! Th...

I agree but it is not THAT easy. First of all, the companies running the co-locations are scared when the lawyers enters the scene and do everything to please them. I have myself quite some experiences and had one server ending up at the police one time (a pianosociety.com download server). Such ev...

no why should we make restrictions? the law in canada strictly speaks by saying life+50, unless the server is somewere else, why should we make these restrictions? with Feldmahler closing shop, UE has won. they came with nothing and now they are leaving with everything. thepiratebay.org has had sim...

After verifications, the intial copyright was 1933 and was renewed in 1960. Bartok died in 1945. This means that it's PD only in Canada and other countries using the rule death + 50 years. Portugal is such a country but not Italy.
Cheers

In the same vein, I would like to draw everybody's attention (Diapason do you hear me ?) to PDFCreator (in a single word, not to be confused with PDF creator ). This is a free and opensource PDF manipulation tool (including creation form any software and pdf merging) that deserves consideration. htt...

I should have that on my shelves. I'll see what I can do. Nevertheless, I'm pretty sure that these pieces are not only non-PD in the UE, but also copyrighted in the US (initial copyright has almost certainly been renewed). If you're in Canada (or another life+50 country) everything should be fine.
