Translation of the Week – Übersetzung der Woche

Re: Translation of the Week
I decided to launch the project. The first Translation of the Week is our Main Page. Every contribution is welcome, even if you translate just a single sentence.
Don't forget to give us input on what the next translations should be.
Obviously the project page can be improved as we go along.

Re: Community Project Standardization
Actually Olmsted's is a valid point. The draft would require each project to state "why it would be beneficial to the site", and Olmsted was rightly asking the same thing about the standardization itself. There is no question that standardizing tens of thousands of library entries is an ab...

Re: Community Project Standardization
Not sure, maybe it's a bit too rigid. For example, the "Translation of the Week" project isn't supposed to have a fixed member list at all. Rather, anyone who is around at a given moment is invited to jump right in with the current week's translation. If people wish to contribute on a regu...

Re: fl
Dazu zwei Fragen: 1. Soll in der deutschen Fassung "fl." d...

Re: Life time data
Great, thanks. I made a few minor changes: the color of the dotted underline can now be changed by a parameter (defaults to black; unfortunately dotted underlines cannot be made with the text-decoration property, which would always have the same color as the text), and I moved the tooltip text to th...

Re: Life time data
Some websites use title attributes to explain abbreviations and the like, combined with a dotted underline as a visual cue. Most browsers will display the title attribute as a tooltip on mouse hover. I posted an example at Category:Seyfert, Martin . If you think this might work, we can turn it into ...

Re: Translation of the Week
Thanks for your comments. I see that the way I wrote the page, it doesn't convey exactly what I meant to express. I would change the section "others" (why isn't it just "other" ;) to be included in the "Description/goals sections", and "translators" to be put ...

Re: Translation of the Week
I think it should be mentioned somewhere to not use an online translator, since they are oftentimes wrong. I notice that it's neither mentioned in the internationalization project, nor the translation of the week project. I don't think I've seen anyone doing that here so far (for the languages I un...
Re: Main Page
I agree. How about something like this: ""Welcome to the Petrucci Music Library! Our goal is to create a virtual library containing all public domain music, as well as music from composers who are willing to share their work with the world without charge." While we're at it, are there...

Translation of the Week
I posted a first draft for a Translation of the Week project. The idea is to focus week by week on one of the most important/urgent translations at that moment in order to bring the various language versions up to date (or temporarily hide them if they are too outdated and nobody is translating them...

Re: Minor enhancement for download links, please test
Actually I didn't work on the audio file template at all yet, however the changes to the style sheet might be affecting it. I'll copy my changes to the audio file template now, hopefully that should fix the issue. Edit: Done, you may need to purge the page cache on some pages. Let me know if there a...

Re: Minor enhancement for download links, please test
That happens for me as well - the text size right under the download link (e.g. '#75954 - 0.89MB - 82 pages - Scan Quality: No ratings yet - !N/!N/!N') has doubled. Not sure, but this sounds as if it could be a caching issue. I had an intermediate version where I had indeed inadvertently increased ...
