Ah, great, finally someone who takes initiative for this long lasting weak point of IMSLP. Do you plan to involve only the help pages and technical pages, or also the complete contributor portal with all its semi-encyclopaedic pages? Probably not. If you want to do it in future: click edit on top of the page, then move the whole template containing your file to the correct position. Thanks for the submission!

I don't mind the upload slowing down. I'm actually very satisfied with it. The tempo before the takedown was way too high to keep up with, and we had to remove a lot of crap. Although I'm not doing a lot of copyright review any more, it seems to me that the current tempo results in an improved quali...

I would suggest to remove the "portal" page. I think only 1 link of this page is actively used. I don't think it's a nice welcome for a new visitor, who has no interest in the history of the closure. Probably some new visitors won't even get as far as the IMSLP wiki. Oh and there's still t...

A clear message on our homepage with the request of copyright holders to look up if their copyright has been offended at SMA might be appropriate.

Yes, simply update the translation to the last english version (use diff). then update the page id in the AutoOldTrans template entry on the page and it's done.

however, I now see that the Page ID is not properly displayed

The grayscale will look nicer on a computer screen due to relative low resolution of a screen , but printed in won't make a difference. Try it, print a 300 dpi grayscale and a 600dpi monochrome and probably the monochrome will look even sharper. I can't compress either CCITT 4 in Photoshop, I don't ...
