The Schubert Serenade is no. 4 in the Schwanengesang song cycle.

Look for the German name ("Ständchen").

There is another song by Schubert for soprano, clarinet and piano - "Ich schleiche bang und still", D.787/3. It is not as long as "Der Hirt Auf Dem Felsen". I believe it was originally an aria from one of Schubert's unsuccessful operatic works, arranged for piano reduction. It is...

I've done it, and now the new version is up, but somehow there are 2 copies (it has cloned itself!) Can someone please remove one of them?

Thanks!

Oops - need to delete a file and re-upload corrected version

Hello, Can I please ask one of you clever people to delete the file of Schubert's "Das Echo" (D.868) that I uploaded on 23 August? Like a typical blonde, I thought I had it all and then I turned the page and there was another page. I'm about to re-scan and upload the full 3 pages in...

It looks like a fantastic resource. They seem to have a wealth of rare works. Unfortunately it looks like you have to be a member to actually get copies.

I wonder if they would let us put material on IMSLP. Maybe this could be the next thing to do after the MIT project??

I've just logged on to find that there is 11,002 scores now!

Keep up the good work! This site is getting better all the time.

If I survive the next 3 days at work I will have a couple of weeks to upload some more Schubert-Lieder.

I'll try to remember the opus numbers if the songs have them... Sometimes gets a bit tricky if there is more than one version of a song (or more than one song under the same name). I'm using the encyclopaedic CD booklets that come with the Hyperion Schubert Collection as my source of dates, D-number...

Judith, if you're still looking for music for flute + violin + viola, have a look at the Free-Scores website.

They have just posted 6 "Pieces en Trio" by Marin Marais for that combination.

If you can find a friend who sings tenor, and a pianist to accompany the two of you, then check out Schubert's song "Auf dem Strom" (D.943). It is a very nice (if somewhat long) piece which gives about equal opportunity to the vocal solo and the horn in F.

Thank you to the moderators for linking the Deutsch catalog of Schubert works. It shows how much work there is yet to do!

I'll do some more serious scanning this weekend.

The Fifth Symphony is my favourite. Especially the transition from the 3rd to the beginning of the 4th movement. It causes the hair to stand up on the back of my neck, every time - what a glorious profusion of sound.

The individual Lieder that I am uploading are from reprints of the Breitkopf & Hartel edition. It would be a very lucky person who had a copy of the entire edition, and there are a lot of reprints out there (mostly of 15-30 lieder at a time in individual Kalmus or Lea study scores). Because of w...
