I would propose submitting in 10 D number chunks (i.e. 10 D numbers per page, with the D numbers stated in the page title). Songs without D numbers should be submitted to separate pages depending on the first letter of the title. Hmmm... I can see where you're coming from, but I'm not sure that thi...

I'd like to second that. It was easy back in the days when only a handful of scores got added each day - we could check the list on the main page. But when I last looked, something like 270 files have been added in the past 2 days. It would be nice if we could access a list of these - sort of like &...

I don't have the time or the experience so I'll leave it to those who know what they're doing.

But 14,000 scores??? The mind boggles.

It makes my 500-600 Schubert Lieder fade into insignificance.

The only ones that belong to song-cycles are the Winterreise, Die Schone Mullerin and Schwanengesang - and they are already up under their respective song-cycle headings, so I won't be re-uploading them. That still leaves over 500 songs which stand alone. (Of Schubert's 900-plus D numbers, over 600 ...

Schubert Lieder

A big "thank you" to the person who uploaded the complete Schubert-Lieder collection. I am wondering whether there is still a place for uploading individual songs, each to their own work page. I have a few Kalmus pocket score books of Schubert-Lieder (unedited reprints of the old Breitkopf...

IMO, your favourite composer is determined from who you listened to a lot (especially while young) or in turning points of your life. Interesting thought...or is it the other way around? what determines which music you are drawn to in those turning points of your life? As for what you listened to w...

Listing works within a genre: by title, or by composer?

Now that some of the "genre" categories are getting quite large, I have noticed something that has the potential to become increasingly annoying (or make it more difficult to find particular works). For example: There are now 110 string quartets on IMSLP. When you go to the category "...

"The greatest composer" vs. "my favourite composer" - the answers to those questions are not necessarily the same. I thing the greatest (in the sense of the greatest genius, or the greatest use of the intellect in developing music) was probably Mozart - with Beethoven not far beh...

I recently acquired an alto flute I just purchased a piccolo!!! Have I gone insane??? Or is the start of something wonderful? Is it possible to be proficient on the C flute, alto flute and piccolo? Or are my lip muscles going to go into meltdown? (Yes, I know, I've heard Jean-Pierre Rampal play all...

The last piece of music on the list (the Stamitz trio, Hortus Musicus No. 106), I have already uploaded. :) As for the others - I'll have to start looking around. Is anyone familiar with the Danish Royal Library website? They have a wonderful collection of old scores and manuscripts (including a ver...

I come from a family which loved music - my father was an oboe player in an orchestra in Poland (before migrating to Australia), my mum was (and sometimes still is) an (amateur) singer, and my brother and I both had music lessons from a young age. Not sure how this compares to international music ed...

Welcome...

It took me a while to get the hang of uploading too, even with the submission guide (but then, I am particularly blonde).

Once you get the idea, it becomes addictive...

...if only I didn't have to go to work to pay for my sheet music habit.

OK, that's done - the Serenade has been added to the relevant page. I'll have to wire up some kind of gadget to the keyboard so that if I try to press the "ampersand" key, it makes an awful noise.

I can't think of any pieces for flute+violin+viola off the top of my head, but I know there must be pieces out there for 2 violins + viola - and it would be relatively easy for the flute to play one of the violin parts. I'll keep my eyes open. I play music sometimes with 2 friends, one who plays vio...
