Re: Wiki pages parsing more than 20 files

There are a couple of issues I've noticed with the new FTE templates, FTE#server-us and FTE#server-us-entry: There is no "filetype" field in the new templates (whereas there was in FTE#Externalimslpfile). Is this intentional? (The old "filetype" field was typically set to "P...

Re: Wiki pages parsing more than 20 files

Thanks very much Ed for taking the swift initiative to implement the new US templates. I will modify the markup generator accordingly.

Re: Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.O

@Eric: In that case, I recommend using the naming LastName_FirstName_after19XX . This will indicate to all users and contributors that the death date is after 19XX. That way, once 19XX + 50/70 (or whatever future copyright laws require) rolls around, everyone can be certain that the scores will have...

Re: Denoting works, rather than scores, as PD or non-PD

Right, ok. I believe it is best to simply put the notification on the score in question. After all, the purpose of this notification is to inform users of the copyright status of the score in question, not the work. And such a copyright designation can only be manifest in the score as representativ...

Re: Denoting works, rather than scores, as PD or non-PD

I don't think it does. But I guess what I'm not getting is to what extent would denoting a work (as opposed to a score) be useful? Are we just talking about putting a notice on a work page as opposed to a notice in the miscellaneous field of the form? If this is the case, I think indicating a work ...

Re: Denoting works, rather than scores, as PD or non-PD

@jdperi, I think that individual scores needed to be marked as PD or non-PD. For us to do so for the works (i.e., the intellectual work) is going to create more problems than it is worth, plus indicating if a score is PD or not is often a fairly good indicate of the state of the work. If I've misse...

Denoting works, rather than scores, as PD or non-PD

This issue is especially relevant for works that have some or all scores hosted on regional servers (IMSLP-EU, IMSLP-US, etc.), though the example I'll use as an illustration happens to be US-related. Carolus very helpfully created two templates, {{WorkPD-USonly}} and {{FilePD-USonly}}. The former i...

Re: Improving #FTE:externally_hosted_score template

Unfortunately, there is currently no form that combines the chore of uploading IMSLP-US scores with that of entering their metadata. Please see the post at http://imslpforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=4358 for detailed instructions on the current process for 1) uploading IMSLP-US scores to the US...

Re: Improving #FTE:externally_hosted_score template

Actually, it looks like I can't edit the template. If Max wants to give me permission to do so, then I will.

Re: Improving #FTE:externally_hosted_score template

Oh. Then really there is no limitation. :-) I thought there was something structural in the way of accomplishing it. I can do it myself. Thanks Max!

Re: Improving #FTE:externally_hosted_score template

I would really like to start using the template. Is there any way to overcome the limitation of at most 5 stacked scores? I want to stack quite a few more when handling parts (10-15 or more, potentially).

Mirroring IMSLP-US on other US-based servers

It would be safest if we could mirror -- or at least backup -- the IMSLP-US server on other US servers.

Would any of you be interested in fulfilling this role?

Re: Improving #FTE:externally_hosted_score template

This looks really good. What's let to keep me from starting to use it (aside from the fact that it doesn't have the name FTE:externally_hosted_score)?

Uploading scores to IMSLP-US and adding links on IMSLP.ORG

This post explains: How to upload to the IMSLP-US server PD-US scores that are non-PD CA/EU How to link to those scores from IMSLP.ORG ***Note: The IMSLP-US upload process is not automated and file permissions are not granular, so the only way to manage scores on IMSLP-US is to become an admin.
