Re: Zoomify

More dezoomify questions! I can't figure out how to get it to work with sites like the British Library, where xml file is located somewhere other than the base directory. For instance, if you take this particular scan (the end of Mozart's Rondo in A, K.386), each page has its own separate xml file. ...

Re: Zoomify

I just tried running that list, and sure enough, it only saved the third image. Perhaps it's an OS X thing, or perhaps it's because I need to run dezoomify on an older version of Python (2.7). I really can't figure it out!

Re: Zoomify

Sorry for returning to an old thread, but I have another dezoomify-related question, if someone might be able to help me. I've tried making a list of base URLs to be dezoomified, saved as a plain .txt file, but for some reason, dezoomify only processes the last image on the list. Any idea what I'm d...

Re: Bach First editions

I recently posted the Bologna copy of the Musical Offering, and I put up the Vom Himmel Hoch variations a while ago. So, all that remains to be found and processed are the Dritter Theil der Clavier Übung , the Schübler Chorales , as well as a better scan of the Zweyter Theil der Clavier Übung (Itali...

Zoomify

I've seen a few zoomify -based scans of things that I'm rather itching to process ( Juilliard , for example, has the first edition of Bach's Partitas for Harpsichord ). I've tried following the guidelines in Generoso's 'Music from Flash-Based Websites' tutorial, but for some reason I keep getting an...

Re: Can we use scores from Hathi Trust?

Thought it best to post here, rather than the Sweelinck thread. I've managed to download reasonably high-quality images of the old Sweelinck Werken edition (1894-1901) from HathiTrust. I've got them all into PDFs now (file size is big, though), but I'm assuming I'll need to remove prefaces by Max Se...

Re: Taking images from Library websites?

Why further bother the French? There's a perfectly legible version of the Couperin at IMSLP. http://216.129.110.22/files/imglnks/usimg/0/06/IMSLP03779-ArtToucherCouperin.pdf And, unlike other new typesets of Baroque music available at IMSLP, the ones for this work are pretty good, as is the Oiseau-...

Taking images from Library websites?

Does anyone know if it's possible to extract good-quality images (or, indeed, any images at all) from the culture.besançon.fr website? There's some great stuff on there, including the 1717 edition of Couperin's L'Art de Toucher le Clavecin . The site has a download option, but the quality of what it...

...And they emailed back. I dealt with one Gary Charbonneau, who was very helpful. It seems that: The Netherlands is one of those "life plus 70 years" countries. We don't know for sure whether this applies to editors as well as authors, but it does in similar jurisdictions, and we don't ha...

Re: Sweelinck

Right, I've e-mailed them. Hopefully, the fact that the most recent volume was published in 1901, coupled with Sweelinck's death-date of 1621 should mean that they can unblock it.

Oh really? If that's the Vocal Score, I'll try to scan those two pages tomorrow. :)

Sweelinck

Someone pointed me to a link recently that, seemingly, contains the old Complete Sweelinck edition (ed. Seiffert et al), but for some reason, it won't allow me view it. Apparently, though, it's viewable in some parts of the world (possibly only the US). Can anyone get at them? They'd be a fantastic ...

Re: Just a quick question.

I don't know where I got that 1959 from - I can't find his dates anywhere. I'll get to removing those, though if anyone else has more time than I do, feel free to step in. :P

Just a quick question.

I found a scan somewhere (can't remember where exactly) of the Henle edition of Bach's English Suites 1-3. The stated copyright date is 1958 (renewed in 1986). Since it has fingerings by Hans-Martin Theopold (who died in 1959, apparently), would they have to be removed before it could be uploaded? I...

Re: C.P.E. Bachs "probestucke"

Loeb Music Library has several editions of the Sonatas in Facsimile. If you click here, you'll find a list of CPE Bach works, and there's a standalone edition of the Probe-Stücken, as well as several editions of the Versuch. Hope that helps. =]
