Re: Cavalli's La Calisto

I just checked things. You are right, pages 66 and 68 are duplicates of each other. However, this is the way the files are provided by the Italian library (the link to there does not work because they recently have changed their system, now you can find the work at http://iccu01e.caspur.it/ms/intern...

Re: Italian Manuscripts

I'm pretty sure there is an easier way to get the pictures. I vaguely remember that there was a similar problem with a flash-based site some time ago. If I remember correctly, in the end, there existed a firefox plugin which easily allowed downloading the pictures in jpg format. Another question: Is...

Re: Post a source file?

I guess there is another option for sharing the sources, at least this is what I did with my few Lilypond files here: I just copied the source onto the discussion page, leaving a notice on the work page where to find the source. See, e.g., http://imslp.org/wiki/12_Flute_Sonatas_ ... ich_II.%29

Re: Dresden SLUB online digital scores

I think it should be easier: Check the names of the files, find some systematics and then download them automatically using something like curl.

Re: Dresden SLUB online digital scores

As far as I know, they are changing their website from the old design to some newer one. In the course of this process several features like the RSS feed and downloading as pdf got lost, but they are supposed to come back in the future (whenever this is precisely).

Re: Microfilm of large MS

Sorry for the delayed reply, I was on a conference the whole week. I was just curious for a particular reason, basically I just learned it contained a lot of old sonatas so I hoped there might be some nice/rare pieces in it. Concerning the scanning procedure, I would suggest creating files for the d...

Re: Microfilm of large MS

I recently looked for the Rost manuscript at BNF and could not find any scans of it.

Re: New Early Music Typsetting application

Well, for Madrigal Book 7 I made a transcription from the Malipiero edition some time ago, which is available on the net as well, https://github.com/bjoerns/monteverdi . Furthermore, I already transcribed quite some works from Renaissance/Early Baroque part book, so in principle I know which problem...

Re: New Early Music Typsetting application

Maybe it's not completely the topic of this thread, but I was thinking about making a modern transcription of the Monteverdi or Gesualdo works using Lilypond. However, what so far has kept me away from starting (apart from the constant lack of time, of course) are two facts: *First of all, one shoul...

Re: copyright in derivative works

I just looked up the situation in Germany... Here you have the right to cite from another musical work and to add it to your own work. So even if it is recognizable this should be no problem. „Zulässig ist die Vervielfältigung, Verbreitung und öffentliche Wiedergabe eines veröffentlichten Werkes zum...

Editor page

Hi everyone! I just noticed some recent changes on IMSLP, in particular the occurrence of the categories "Editors" and "Arrangers". Well, as I have currently three editions of works by Graupner by myself on IMSLP I wondered whether I can/should create such an editor pages for mys...

Händel first editions online

Hi everybody! Today I read in the newspaper about the Händelhaus in Halle providing digitalizations of some first editions of works by Händel, in particular oratorios and operas. They can be found here: http://www.haendelhaus.de/de/bibliothek/Musikalien_Buecher/ . Though they do not offer to downloa...

Re: Opera scores

It should be fairly easy to get the individual images automatically using curl or any other download manager on the console.
