No, because melodies are usually the same under rhythmic transformations such as augmentation or diminution or being reworked into a different metre, and the “search by melody” feature also works under any possible transposition. (It doesn’t find melodic transformations such as retrograde or inversion unless the melodic fragment under examination is non-retrogradable or non-invertible.)

So in other words, it’s not the rhythm that identifies the melody (though having a good rhythm is essential, as Gershwin would attest). It’s the choice of note pitches.

Yeah, it's similar to the iphone not having copy/paste for years, sort of embarrassing... But we will get there, I promise!

What a superb function of IMSLP!
Although it seems that there's still a long way to go.
I don't know what the checkbox "Normalized" and Pull-down menus"Smoothing" mean
can anyone explain it? Thanks a lot
