pdf file uploaded in the wrong place

I tried to correct today a previous upload of mine regarding Guy Ropartz' cello sonata no.1. I had wrongly uploaded in 2013 its cover page as a pdf
file instead of using the well known TN- + jpg format. So I thought I could replace it with another much more interesting file, that of the first page of the piano score that bears the composer's gift signature to cello student Paul Coutan, one of Paul Bazelaire's students at the time. However that move was not well received, and the file was reverted to its initial state. My thought is that if this is not possible, which I understand, wouldn't it be more sensible to delete the uninteresting file called "Cover Page", so that I can replace it as intended ?
