Strauss Horn Concerto

Post by horndude77 »

I'm thinking of scanning this piece. Here's the first page of a score I tracked down: http://open-scores.sourceforge.net/score0003.tiff. It looks like it's a reprint of Universal Edition 1592 which would seem to have been published in the early 1900's (pre-1923). (I think it says it's from the "Philharmonia" series of study scores at the bottom.) I just want to be sure. Thanks!

It was initially issued by Aibl, subsequently by Peters and Universal (who ultimately took over the Philharmonia series). It's been reprinted by Kalmus. Free in both Canada and the USA. I'm assuming you're talking about the 1st concerto here, because the 2nd is copyright in the USA (and published after WWII).

Oh, yeah, his first horn concerto of course. Thanks for the info. I'll take the copyright off then and upload it.
