How to upload to proper location?

Post by NPThomas »

RE: Gabriel Pierné -- Album pour mes petitis amis op.14 -- my arrangement
for wind octet.
Yesterday I loaded my arrangement, Nº1. It ended up under Nº6, but has now
been moved to its proper place under Nº1. Thanks. How can I do this right
the first time?

Today I loaded my arrangement, Nº2, but then I saw the parts were not in
the right order, so I re-loaded it. Now I see two uploads pending review,
however the IMSLP file references are the same. So I assume the 2nd upload
will automatically replace the 1st? Also, these files seem to have ended
up under Nº6, but should be under Nº2 (Farandole).

I also have all six movements in a single file (per part plus complete
score.) Perhaps it would be better to have the complete collection rather
than separate movements? If that is preferable, then I will upload the
files with the complete collection, and the files for Nº1 and Nº2 should be
deleted. Otherwise, I will proceed to upload Nº3, Nº4, Nº5 and Nº6
separately. Please advise which you prefer.

Regarding part order -- IMSLP guidelines call for "score order" but for a
wind octet it is common practice to show the horns above the bassoons, so
that is the order I have used in my scores

When you upload a new scan or arrangement to a work page that already has scores, make sure its name on your computer is not the same as an already present score. Otherwise it will be inextricable for you. Edit the page and check your name is not a substring of |File Name 2=PMLP1023019-something.

Do you mean the order of the parts shown, i.e. Flute 1, Flute 2, Oboe 1 should be changed? Then do not upload the parts again.
Edit the work page and reorder lines containing e.g. |File Name 2=PMLP27666-Pierne--op14-Nº1-6-ww11-Flute_1.pdf

Reorder numbers before the = sign into 1 2 3 4 etc. Make the File Descriptions consistant with the new order and new numbers.
