Torchi, Elegant Italian Songs and Arias

Post by steltz »

This work exists in both split form, by the individual composers, and there is also the unified collection on its own page.

However, since the page title for the latter is:

Elegant Italian Songs and Arias of the Seventeenth Century (Torchi, Luigi)

Torchi comes up as the composer, when in fact he didn't compose a single one of them. All the single arias and songs are on his page because he is listed as the arranger/editor of them (which is correct).

I hate to say this, because I hate the dreaded "various" category, but would this be an appropriate use of it? Torchi should not appear as the composer here.

You're right -- It should be in the "various" category. We already have most of the scans in the book. Torchi should be listed as an editor, not as the composer.
