Schütz, Symphoniae sacrae

This work has been on IMSLP for about 3 years, and hasn't been tagged yet. Though it is tempting to tag it "symphonies", I think the title more accurately translates as "Sacred Music", so the "Symphoniae" is a generic, not a specific form.

These works are mostly sacred vocal works with instrumental accompaniment. The correct generic for that would be a secular cantata. Is that the best option in this case?

I'd go with "sacred cantatas".

Woops, I meant sacred cantata -- don't know if that was too much coffee or too little . . . .
